Oh, poor Cindy. That was sad. Loved the Jill/Cindy bonding though... and that the story was from Jill's POV.

Doomed from the start indeed. It was kinda nice while at lasted ;) I actually read all the C/D series even though I was disturbed at the very idea of those two in the same room as each other, let alone as a couple. Haha. They just seem such polar opposites... I would be scared for Cindy. Hehe. But in the end I think that's what made it work, their sheer contrast. Plus Cindy makes any ship work ;)
