This had just the right amount of sadness to it. I haven't gotten through the whole series yet but I can imagine him thinking as everyone as his children. I wish you got into how he thought about the character some more but what you have is very good.

Not how I envisioned Rube's last reap at all, but I must say nice twist. Somehow I love the idea that Cane was the one to destroy DWH; that just adds this extra-sinister air to his already deplorable character. Works well - good job on that.
