Multiple Man! Glad he's shown up =) And this makes me realize how much I miss Mystique's crazy/awesomeness in the 616 right now. Can't wait for the next chapter!

What is going on?

Emma and Logan are double crossing the gang...Remy is working with Mystique to bring about Mags...Rogue fell on him and maybe absorbed this info...not to mention where the hell is Kitty and Emma.

Great writing.

Wow...that was good.

I wonder where Jean and holy hell I was not expecting Mystique, that shocked me. Whatever is she up to?

Brilliant writing. This plot rivals Marvel.

Okay, I sat down to read Chapter 1 this morning, because I felt awful that I kept getting author alerts and hadn't read the story yet (it's been busy, what can I say?). And didn't stop reading until I ran out of story.

As usual, your characterization is brilliant. Taking characters out of the 616 universe and putting them "elsewhere" always makes for odd contraditions, as you try to plug the pieces in and see how they fit. You've done a brilliant job of this - despite the changes in their history, despite the differences this has made in their personalities - they're still Them.

Plus, Emma's had some utterly Brilliant one-liners. Talk about your bonuses!

And, because you know I Have to ask - are we going to see anything of Bobby Drake? Because the other four original X-Men are all accounted for...

Looking forward to the next chapter!!

I miss Magneto. Anyways, I ♥ Emma Frost! She's one of my favorite characters, and I love how Nightcrawler is trying to ber her friend when so many others despise it. I have a feeling Emma will be saving him at some point or other. I have no idea who Madrox (sp) is, but he seems like an interesting character. I'm excited about Gambit! Will there be any new characters coming? And poor The thing, that was sad. It must suck not to belong with humans OR mutants.

I think I feel bad for poor Mortimer the most. I do ♥ how you got his vernacular down to a T, I hope you include more of his perspective! He's so nice to Clarice :]

I particularly like the differences in the personality & character of Hank & Xavier b/c of their alternate life experiences. The way you've written them makes sense, psychologically. And what IS it that Emma wants, dear? Most intriguing.

One recurring, serious annoyance keeps cropping up: this (last issue) bit that continually interrupts the story flow. If you've been reading, then you already know it came from previous chapters. If you purposely break into a story in the middle, and you run into a reference to some previous action that makes you feel a little lost -- well, it's expected, and you're going to assume that it's something you missed in a previous chapter. Either way, it's an unnecessary interruption that never fails to jolt me out of the nice reverie you've put me into with your storytelling. If I ask nicely, will you cut it out?? :) Pretty please?

figured I'd better review since it seems nobody else has. :( Don't know why -- yours is one of the better crafted around here! And so original! I love AUs, and yours has taken some of the most well-used characters in directions so different I hardly recognize them. I love being surprised like that!

I'd love to find out how EXACTLY Logan first ran into Kitty, Remy, Rogue-n-Kurt, and Jean. The tantalizing half-hints you've teased us with make me want badly to know the full backstory. I hope you work it in somehow. And especially -- what did Kurt & Mystique do to each other to make them hate each other so? Maybe I should have figured it out already, but I still don't get it.

What can I say but, I really love your story so much! You have done a spectacular job in keeping this tale engaging while not once neglecting the many characters you have decided to write about. Please keep up the great work and I would like to wish you great success in your writing future. Thank you for sharing your talents with this community. Peace.

I positively love Emma Frost! And of course, Beast is perhaps the greatest intellectual and yet, comical being :). I enjoyed reading every single line of the fight and only wished that the Remy and M quarrel would've been a tad bit longer. I got so much action and humor that this was my favorite chapter. I especially loved Warren saying that he can fly several thousand feet and drop Scott in the Atlantic. I love Angel and Scott :). And I'm guessing Scott is wanting Angel's help to find Jean. Oh, and I liked how Emma Frost commented on Scott's physique. They're such a cute couple! Yay for the professor taking a role and establishing his X-men!

Your Rogue is a fierce enemy :]. Poor Thing had his hands full

Wow! That's all I can say after reading this first part. I don't know of any other way to describe it. See, I've been looking over this story for a while now. At first I didn't know what to make of it, but when I got right down to it I found the seeds of a truly amazing story. And without getting into too many details, I'm pretty much hooked!

Let me start with the premise. The comics have done the old world without the X-men before. They told plenty of stories about what would happen if there was no Charles Xavier to form the X-men. But they never seemed to consider the possibility of what would happen without Magneto? I never considered it either. But you have really done something amazing here painting a unique and very believable picture!

Charles Xavier himself is still an educator. That part of his character you got down very well. But his lack of motivation is very telling. I think Irene hit it right on the head. He was never pushed so he never developed that strong drive that helped him develop the X-men. Now he's sort of just a face not overly thrilled by heroics. But it looks like he's going to have to be.

I really like what you did with Scott Summers as well. This is a very different take, but it's still very much in character for him. Having him a product of the military and law enforcement fits perfectly with his persona. But I have to wonder, was he being serious about that alien abduction bit? Is it possible that the Shi'ar exist in this AU? Whatever the case it sounds interesting! And the revelation about him being married was even more intriguing! You seem to have avoided the old steps the comics took, spending the early issues detailing how Scott and Jean get together. Here they've already gotten together, got married, and amazingly enough got separated. But it doesn't seem like a usual separation. After they 'divorced' Jean disappears. And Scott still seems very protective of her. Could it be that he separated from her to protect her? I look forward to seeing that plotline develop! I'm a big Scott/Jean fan so any novel take on their relationship is great in my book! I hope they can get back together and help each other, but I'm sure that's a story for another day.

Now the way you set up the rest of the "Brotherhood" was quite interesting! You have Emma, Kitty, Remy, Kurt, Rogue, and Logan on one team. That's quite a force! And they all seem to have a shady record. Without Charles Xavier, what will be their angle here? Will they be good, bad, or something in between? Whatever the case I'm very much intrigued!

The end was the best part! I didn't expect Bishop to be Mystique! But it makes sense. She would use those tactics to get a guy like Scott to do her bidding. What about Milbury? Could he be a deception too? Possibly Sinister? Whatever the case, they've got some agenda going and with a name like Project Magnus I'm very intrigued to see what comes of it!

An excellent start my friend! This feels truly novel. It's something you probably wouldn't get to see in the comics, but not so out there so it still feels like X-men. I truly applaud you for your creativity! And I look forward to seeing more issues! Keep up the excellent work my friend! Great job! Slickboy out.

Not only can you write, but you also have a brilliantly sick and twisted sense of humour AND you referenced Ant Man AND you somehow managed to make me like The Thing*. I think this might be my new favourite X-men story.

*Okay, so most of it was the bitterness at Namor and the fact that he got clobbered by Rogue, but still!

This is fantastic! Seriously, you deserve way more reviews on this than the number you've received. Can't wait for the big fight and I'm dying to go back and read your older works once I get the time.

Well! Time for me to stop being rude as hell and start actually reviewing, since I'm enjoying your story immensely. I'm so glad to see you writing X-men again, and to have a reworking of the Ultimate Universe that doesn't totally suck (I really loved it in comics for a while, but the last three years... eugh) - in fact, yours is really super cool - makes it even better again!

Mostly, I like the chance to see Scott as total (in control) military-badass. He deserves to get a chance to be that sometime in some universe. On the other hand, i was enjoying the break from Jean to begin with, but I have to admit, I think I like what you're doing with her... oh the fallout from Xavier choosing to retire from the heroics life.

so yes - yay you!
