DeathTheGirl666 2009-10-29 . chapter 1This is wonderful, it makes you feel happy. Or at least, it made ME feel happy now.:) It is wonderful that Caspian didn't fall in love with her merely because of her beauty, I think this makes the story as popular as it is, obviously not everybody is as shallow as most people perceive 'modern' people to be.:) I don't know if I make sense, it's almost three in the morning here and I am unable to sleep despite my tiredness, so I'm distracting myself with reading and reviewing. I hoped this would be a series of chapters explaining this girl's and Caspian's relationship, but this was a pleasant surprise. x x x |
Sapphire Warrioress 2009-09-01 . chapter 1It may be short, but it's beautifully written.
You've shown your readers a wonderful glimpse of the love between Caspian and The Star's Daughter, and the strength this young king possessed to look beyond outward appearances to the true worth of this woman's soul.
Excellent work. |
Rosa Cotton 2009-08-26 . chapter 1Oh, this was stunning! Your take of why and how Caspian fell in love so fast was perfect. You wrote her so well. |
 WolvesRule612 2009-08-24 . chapter 1Cute. Nice. Continue. Please? With a cherry on top? |
Miss Pookamonga 2009-08-11 . chapter 1That was stunning. I can't even begin to describe how well you captured her.
And the line "Goldwater was nothing compared to this" just made it infinitely better. I LOVE it.
Luv,
Miss Pookamonga ;P |
LucyCrewe11 2009-08-05 . chapter 1short but nice. I like the canon pairing from "Voyage of the dawn treader" and I like the way you wrote about it here. I wish it were a little longer though, so that there could be more to say about it other than "Well, that was nice" (Which it was, and I totally mean it!). anyway, good job. |
Shahzadi 2009-07-29 . chapter 1It's nice to see some romance from you. This was very sweet, though I think you should have elaborated a little on what *exactly* Caspian saw in Ramandu's Daughter. Nonetheless, I hope you extend this...there are so mancy possibilities with Ramandu's Daughter since she's such a mysterious figure. We need more Caspian/RD fanfics on here :)

shownarnialove09 2009-07-24 . chapter 1So what if this was short. It was simple and beautiful. Ramandu's daughter definitely beats Susan.
I'm adding this to my favorites.
If you want to I think that you would be interested in my story "A Star's Journal: The Star's never Lie"; It's about Ramandu's daughter. |
rye.bread 2009-06-06 . chapter 1Short is sweet. Short suffices. And when you’ve said all that needs saying, any more is just clutter. Lewis himself wrote the Narnia stories in a very terse style. It’s the magic of the listener’s ear that makes it seem bigger.
To quote your own self: “It was too wonderfully strange to explain; something that couldn’t quite fit into human words.” |
7Knight-Wolf 2009-06-01 . chapter 1Very interesting. I too believe in love at first sight. Though quite honestly, I thought that Caspian's love for the star's daughter was just an impulsive distraction from his greif, and that he grew to truly love her over time. Nicely written though.

Aslan is love 2009-05-31 . chapter 1wow this is not cheesy at all I love this it describles Caspian's love for Ramdu's daughter perfetly. I can't wait for the follow up to this gem. |
Miniver 2009-05-31 . chapter 1Notwithstanding all the lyrical description of the lady, my favorite line was "Goldwater was nothing compared to this." There's something visceral in the realization that all the yearnings in life pale before an encounter with a loved one. What a wonderful tribute to Siber and Connor. |
Charli800 2009-05-31 . chapter 1Well, like you said, it's short. I think the author's notes might have been longer than the actual story. It's well written and quie poignant, nonetheless. I do think the note at the beginning makes it seem worse than it is, but perhaps that's just my way of reading a story.
I liked the suggestion that Caspian has seen peasants and kitchen maids more beautiful than Stargirl, as you dubbed her. It's nice to see someone going against the stereotypical view that the rich and noble will be the most handsome.
My only criticism is that your style and content clashed a tiny bit. The content is very immediate: Caspian's first reaction to and feelings for Stargirl, but the style is much more contemplative. From the content I would almost expect this to be written in the first person, but the style you've used has a sense of authorial presence, which is almost the opposite extreme.
On the whole this was a sweet piece, with an interesting perspective on love. Nicely written.
Happy writing,
Charli
PS WHy don't you fire your muse and try writing without her? They're such contrary creatures, she'd probably come rushing straight back. ;P |
GeoffreyF 2009-05-31 . chapter 1Oh, that was beautiful! Very nicely conveyed - Caspian does fall in love with RD rather quickly in VDT. I liked the idea that RD had a special "quality" of some kind (almost an Elvish-ness, one might say - actually this whole thing has echoes of Beren-Luthien). My favourite sentence: "She possessed a beauty that started somewhere deep inside her soul, where music, joy and purity merged together, then gently shone and shimmered through her and finally exploded outwards in a brilliant galaxy of virtue; a clear, untainted beacon for all to see." That is marvellous description and it gave me a nice little shiver up the spine. Excellent work. I hope to see the companion piece! |
Lady of Stormness Mountain 2009-05-30 . chapter 1This was beautiful, exactly right, and just...perfect! |
