So, while I first cringed at the notion of this pairing, I admit that my curiosity was stirred and I had to go ahead and read this.

I was still cringing at the thought of these two together by the end, but I commend you for making it nearly believable.

This was very well written, and there's a lot more implied in this story than we see in what's actully here. Nicely done.

I wouldn't be afraid to go back and tweak Barbossa's manner of speech just a bit. You've managed to hang onto the essence of his character here with his perserverence, optimism and audacity, and it would be lovely to color it all with his accent.

It's the mark of a vivid imagination and good writing, if you can pull off making us wonder if such a thing might actually have been possible.
