Knowing how Zack dies in the end while reading this almost makes me dread getting to the end, but the way you write makes me want to read more.

This was really beautiful! I love Zack and you told his story very well, and the effect that he had on everyone. It wasn't just his story that was sad, but he had such a big effect on everyone, especially Cloud. . .

These few lines really stood out for me, "His eyes are green and his hair is silver and he looks—he looks like and angel, an angel with the devil's voice ringing in his head. His wings are the color of ink and then there is more black, there is Zack's hair when he pulls her to safety and he shall avenge her but oh, she is helpless and she is dying and she is furious at her own defeat and so, so frightened, and clinging to the poisonous blue of Zack's eyes. They blink."

I love the whole angel theme in FF 7. Angels, fallen angels, sin, redemption, etc. Then the way you described Tifa clinging to the poisonous blue of Zack's eyes, just said so much with so little.

I also liked this line, "You take care of them, he says. He means both of them. It's the closest he can come to letting go."

It's just so like Zack. He was optimistic even in the end. *cries* ;_;

I-I don't even know what to say to this. I know how this whole thing ends, with Zack dying and everything, but at the same time I kept crossing my fingers and going, "He's going to live and they're going to see each other again," because your writing inspires that kind of innocent hope all the while making my heart break while Tifa and Zack try to grapple with what they want and what reality is throwing at them.

I love love love it and I don't know how any of my stuff is going to compare to this. So much of it is written and I haven't posted it. I hate posting. -_-

But you are a fabulous person and I love you half to death. All the way to death. XD Definitely going into my favorites, and I'll be squeeing over it for sure next time we talk to each other.

how do you only have five reviews for this? HOW? i thought this was beautifully written, and oh boy do i love your style! it's really difficult to find any well-written pieces of tifa/anybody who's not cloud or vincent ... scratch that ... among the muck of stories, it's hard to find any good ones in general. which is why i don't look for them.

except this one. i don't know. i was watching FMVs yesterday, and i've never played the bit with zack but, all of a sudden, i was thinking and thinking and – yeah, i'm telling you my life story. anyway, zack/tifa? one of my favorite secret pairings. and i love how you presented their relationship, and it was bitter and sweet and lovelovelove! i love it.

the only story i've ever read that i remotely enjoyed of this pairing was entitled "i'm ready" and i can't even find it anymore. so i'm happy that i found this. :)

I love the cavalier camaraderie-romance going on between Zack and Tifa -it kind of...bridges the gap, I suppose, in what will later be an angst-o-riffic Tifa/Cloud/Aerith triangle, and gives further depth to that lovable Fair fellow.

And I don't even know what the hell I'm trying to say here, apart from the fact that this new, exploratory dynamic works very well.
