Oh, this is lovely! Only Luna can be so honest without being hurtful--and Snape has had enough of being hurt. Luna _notices_ things more than anybody I have ever seen.

She's the sort of person who sees 'through a glass darkly' as a challenge.

Delightful! I'll admit I'm not clever enough to guess who is speaking in the beginning of the story, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading about such an unusual and brilliant couple. Based on Rowling's portrayal of Luna I don't expect that she's really all that good of a student or particularly adept at throwing curses. It seems like Luna is usually an easy target...wasn't she easily disarmed in the Dept. of Mysteries once? I prefer to believe, however, that Luna is very skilled and intelligent. She is a Ravenclaw, after all, and intelligence can be found in the most unlikely people.
I wish Rowling had made more use of Luna, she's a great character and certainly one of my favorites.
