weland 2009-06-03 . chapter 1I like the premise. These read like "Dear Abby" letters rather than letters to the editor (which are responses to articles). Still funny, though. Rather than Dear X, I suggest "Dear MeijiTimes" or "Dear Editor" or whichever department is answering these questions. I also think it would be funnier and more effective if you used something besides "Love, X" and had something like "Best of luck" or "We'll keep the homefires burning, MeijiTimes" for Shishio, or "Cheers/Kanpai!, MeijiTimes" for Hiko, something character-appropriate, that way you can poke more fun at them. :) It would also be more effective to refer to Tomoe as Kenshin's wife, rather than girlfriend, more than just because it's canon. "I got his wife killed"..."before they even had time to reproduce" being optional, *smicker* - married relationships are more personal than BF/GF. Poor Ken! And where are the letters from the rest of the Juppongatana and from Saito?! or Tokio or Yahiko (something about Yakuza? or suggest him as the new vitcim/punching bag--I mean apprentice--for Hiko) or Sano (about what to do about the incumbant imperialists?). I think Iwanbo would be fun - a lot of grunting and cave man talk and no words of more than 1 syllable (LOL). I loved the suggestion of the Necronomicon for Hiko. Poor Kenshin, never safe from Hiko's jibes (LOL). |
