I just started reading this one and it looks like fun. I can't wait to find out what the curse is and how it involves Severus.

Good story so far.. I was glad that you had that bit with Petunia about her still being a jealous, petty person. I do hope that you continue to keep that aspect of her character, as well as Snape's sarcasm etc. I'm very interested to find out what is going to happen in the upcoming chapters.

This is cute! I love the fashion magazine bit (particularly the Hermione tablespoon to teaspoon quip!)

I noticed this story recently in the daily updates. I just finished reading the 10 parts available. I must say the story is well written and is certainly holding my attention. I'm eager to read more.

Just a theory I came up when it came to the protections on Harry's first year and why it was so easy for them to enter:

-the third-year spell on the door to Fluffy: Hagrid only completed up to third year before he was expelled. And Fluffy _did_ need to be fed, preferably regularly.

-Devil's snare - I think Dumbledore put that weakness on purpose. It really shouldn't be that easy.

-Keys, either Flitwick's an idiot, of Albus came up with a plausible idea and made him change the charms... giving a broom to a seeker? Seriously?

-chess game: No one actually knew - at that point - that Ron was a chess freak, did they? McGonagal surely didn't!

-Snape's potion - by far the most usable. Only that, if he knew it was against Voldemort instead of thieves, he would have taken the antidote out of the set all together.

You've presented a very intriguing puzzle so far. I can't wait to see where you are going with it. Please, please write more soon!

Neat section, and liked how Pet sort of explained things, and that while she and Harry may not have been loving family, at least it makes more sense from some pov, especially as I couldn't see them treating Harry like that in canon, and apparently no one questioning things.

INteresting, but overall I'm very confused. What exactly did Dumbledore do regarding Snape and Remus? And Vernon for that matter? And Why have the Dursleys just suddenly changed? Ahh well, maybe future chapters will provide more enlightenment on these topics. Well, ta, until you update again!

Given that Remus nearly ate the trio because he'd rather play Marauder than take his potion, a certain amount of mistrust on Snape's part is understandable, I suppose. I'm glad that they are both concerned with Harry, though, and hope they find out what is really going on.
