The last two lines just startled me though. I wasn't prepared for that. Yet, it was still a good story.

This is certainly one of the best Geass fics I have ever read. It was short but very compelling to say the least. I love how you used chess all throughout the fic and the last part when Kallen found the queen in his pocket was just heartbreaking.

I'm more of a CC fan, since the animes basically shafted Kallen - she became 'the other girl, somewhat whiny' in my head - but your fic makes her human, and interesting, again. Thank you.

Kallen's character was portrayed in a way I've never seen before, and it was amazing how much deep this fic wnet into her feelings.
The characterization, descriptions, even the mood of the fic, was freaking perfect, and this is so going into my favourites so I can read it again and possibly break out in tears because it is. just. so. perfectly. hearbreaking.

I think I'll go back and read it again now. =3

Absolutely wonderful. Kallen's portrayal (as well as Lelouch's) was perfect, the story was deep and layered--just like the series, though the fic was easier to understand xD--and the ending line...beautiful and so so tragic. I loved this piece!

I don't often read a lot of Kallen-centric fics let alone Lelouch/Kallen ones, having usually found myself disappointed with other people's portrayals of her. But you. YOU'VE managed to *get* Kallen in a way that I've never seen anyone quite *get* a character before. I've recently had this fascination with all the potential interactions between Lelouch and Kallen during the series, and I'm not sure I necessarily need it to be romantic in nature, but I'm not running for the hills screaming, either. So, I picked this story with a summary that sounded interesting, and I figured I would be okay. What I didn't expect to get was one of the most breath-taking fics I've seen in the Code Geass fandom yet--this portrayal of Kallen is stunning and fits with her character so very well.

This was a wonderful display of the strength of Kallen's personality, her conflicting views of the Britannians and Japanese(LOVED the scene where she stops the rape. It hits home to her that life isn't black and white - she saw a woman in need of help and acted accordingly), and her general issues with Zero/Lelouch itself. The gorgeous emotions of this fic - the way it clenched my fangirl heart and wouldn't let it go - It was beautifully written and beautifully executed, I just... you know the ending is coming and yet it's no less impactful for it, rather more like... being inevitable, which you did beautifully with.

In short, I LOVED IT. Thank you for sharing.

I love how all of this ties in with the anime. It's like I can actually imagine this happening in there, like a cut scene. I also really liked your reference to time running in circles. It sums up the series as a whole spot on.

Hmm. I honestly think that this would've happened in the series. It... I don't know, fits? Yeah. And the last line just broke my heart. Because you know, I always remember Lelouch's death! Like, everyday, it's actually scary.
