I believe your depiction of an early Hinata is spot on, ans since Naruto is older and confident she will either develop a crush s in the cannon or more like a big brother. At least thats what im guessing.

A heart wrenching emotional scene, I've got to say im very impressed. I hope that this story continues without issue.

I've got to say i love your spin on Teuchi's character, it's something i have yet to see anywhere else, I also like how you flesh put all the characters, the story is a bit slow but that's a good thing sine it doesn't fell like your dragging out a single person, you switch to keep it interesting, weather intentional or not it's still good.

I'm alitte concerned with the foreshadowing about Naruto's Genutsu assumption. But i suppose thats the point of it. A good chapter, i really feel for the Third, since he has tried his best but still fails.

Naruto's Genjutsu is genius, and the way you used it to get Kurinai back into the mix was as well. Great chapter, I also like the way you ha dNaruto and Teuchi Act as well as his background.

I agree with your assessment of Jiraya, and how he peeps to forget his trouble and run from the past. I also enjoyed Naruto finally making a "friend" if you can call Shikamaru that right now.

Naruto's musings about the village hating him were amusing, as well as when Kakashi presented his findings. Those small humorous moments keep the story from drowning in angst, I hope they continue. If they do get Naruto into the Academy i look forward to him meeting Hinata and Sakura to see their reaction to him, Sasuke i can guess.

And so the kage-henge is created/rediscovered. Naruto's development seems like he is getting to genin skill in throwing weapons, and knows 2 of the three jutsu to pass the genin exam. Though his taijutsu is probably terrible since he has no teacher, and does not do any physical training. though that might change next chapter.

Once again great use of minor characters, I look forward to a meeting between A little Skikamaru and Naruto that's paranoid.

A short but clan written fight scene, i do wonder about Naruto's sense of gratitude though, only because he was cheering on his protector in the beginning. As always looking forward to reading the next chapter.
