lily moonlight 2009-06-22 . chapter 2Hello! At last! Sorry it's taken an age to review. Good to see an update, and of course, hope you don't mind me saying here, but I hope there might be other updates soon also :P Although I do understand about exams and life crises, which I hope is okay.
This was a great chapter, full of mystery and menace, as often is the case. Can't complain though, I love your style!
Loved the opening, the dark, and how it shouldn't be. Immediately sets the tone of horror. Some of my worst nightmares take place in the pitch dark. Sure you really wanted to know that :D Nice bit of humour slipped in about how Atlantis 'likes' him, love the anthropomorphism of that (that is one heck of a hard word to type incidentally!)
love the short sentences as well, very effective, you use them well, very sinister effect. Oh, and the padding sound of feet is very sinister too, and the sensation of the feathers, really, really creepy! I'm shivering slightly imagining it now. Very well created the unreality and the nightmare. Things against the back of the neck are really horrible too when you don't know what they are. REall liked these lines too, for the contrast to all the softness, 'And with a splintering crash, the window beside him suddenly imploded, his blurred image shattering, long sharp skewers of glass launched spear-like towards him, glittering with reflected moonlight.' Excellent! |
crusoe89 2009-06-19 . chapter 2That was so creepy! Looking forward to more and finding out what's going on... |

x Varda x 2009-06-18 . chapter 2Wow! That was way scary! And I'm sitting in the dark *shivers*
And I really have no idea what's going on either! I'm not confused, but this is very intense :D
Lovely blood (yum!) and you left Rodney hurt at the end of this one :o Can't wait for more! |
lily moonlight 2009-06-08 . chapter 1Now you're scaring me... Really scaring me :O That's me looking scared and terrified, cowering behind my laptop screen. But at the same time in awe of once again the ability you have to wreak psychological terrors on your characters and readers. This poor guy!! Every single story and some fresh hell is unleashed on him XD Can't complain though :P you're welcome for the read through, I didn't do much really. this is very good. Weird and strange, but that's good. I liked it. The structure works well, kind of like the neverendingness of a nightmare, nothing quite real. Love the descriptions, for the second time tonight in a reiew, i'm going to have to offer the disclaimer that this sounds wrong, but I really liked your descriptions of the blood, the parts like treacle, and how it beads then blossoms and then balloons. Really scary. And then the voice at the end, insidious and whispering. Very frightening. Liked the 'And...' as well, very effective. Looking forward to reading more! |
