Beautiful... your descriptions were both poetically concise and original; I love the idea of a 'splash of paper' as they slip from Lan's fingers and hit the ground, and the entire scene with the scientist, which was perfect at conveying Gingetsu's disgust for the manipulative man. It was short, but that did not hinder any part of it in the least, and the soft shounen-ai in the ending was so sweetly sad...

I've only read the first volume of Clover, but from what I can tell, Lan and

Gingetsu are very in-character. The "romance" is sweet because it isn't sickenly

over-romantic. The subtlety fits perfectly with these characters. The story,

though short, was engaging enough that I barely noticed the sometimes odd

shift in tense. All in all, this was a wonderfully sweet fic.

What can I say that hasn't been said somehow? Your story is perfect, from your portrayal of the two characters all the way down to the little details, such as Ran and Gingetsu listening to La Boheme. I don't usually read shonen ai, but I'm glad I made an exception. )
