Great converstion between the two brothers. I also liked the perspective you chose, it worked very well.

I don't believe Sam thought for one single moment Dean would rather haver their Dad there than him, though. Sure, the older boy misses John particularly due to the close bond their shared (which of course doesn't say Sam doesn't miss his father as terribly) but he certainly wouldn't have chosen him over his little brother.

Apart from that, I really liked the way they talked things over, reluctantly as always, and finally 'agreed' on avoiding the subject again forever.

I enjoyed the style you used here, with a conversation that reveals just what's going on in the boys' minds and hearts, being overheard by an impartial, uncaring observer. What's nice is, even though the "conversation was over," I'm sure it wasn't forgotten by the two brothers.

*squee* That was so adorable! Gosh, you always make the best chick flick moments without them being too mushy, with the right amount of fluff. Dean's little speech to Sam was what completely made me a happy gush of joy, when he told Sam that he wouldn't have anyone else other than Sam with him.

That works pretty well. Would've been cool to hear them say that, or even part of it, but we all know it never did. Would've made us feel better, if nothing else. Good job.

Interesting conversation. Lord knows they'd never have it, but we can dream, right? They both carry around so much guilt I'm surprised they haven't keeled over from being eaten up inside.

cool story! i like the style...it's different. i enjoyed reading it and loved the mushy conversation between the brothers...god know's i can't get enough of it sometimes!

Love the sentiment. Love how much Dean and Sam are so close, yet so far (please excuse the cliche).

Don't love the format. I think some of the power of the scene is lost in writing this way. It feels a little ... I don't know ... "sterile" is the best word I can come up with.

But I love your writing overall! I'm still hoping for a chapter 4 of Speed Bumps (hint hint, nudge nudge).

Hi, Perfect, perfect, perfect. This is just how i would imagine a conversation of this kind going between Sam and Dean. Sam laying his heart on the table and Dean, although understanding perfectly what's going on, can't help but try and make light of it until there's absolutely no possiblity that he's going to have to give his little brother the talk and then rendering Sam speechless with his heartfelt words.
