Reviews for: Lifetime of Memories
Dracula's Lair 1/21/07 . chapter 1
Yes, this fic might be posted years ago but hey, its still good enough to be reviewed now!

What i like about this one is that you've written Piett's memory really well. Nowadays stories that have flashbacks in them contain a little too much information in a giant paragraph, ie a pageful of words in italics.

Another thing to be commended is that the way you wrote regarding the characters' emotions. The bit of sadness in it isn't overdone, and you've written it so well that your readers can actually 'feel' how Piett was feeling at that point of time when the girl died. (well i do!
Also, your level of detail in the fic is just perfect. I like the short description of Veers, it gives readers an image of how he looked like in it.
Additionally, the part where the girl dies, i think that was nice in a way you showed how she fell, and that part 'red hair falling loose around her shoulders like a burial shroud of liquid blood.' was very impressive.

i'd probably write more, but those above-mentioned things are the ones that struck me most when i read this story.

Keep up the good work, Gerald! Your efforts in this one isn't wasted)

Gerald, I've just discovered your stories, and I must admit that they're one of the best I've ever read. I've always liked this sort of "psychological" stories, about Imperial heroes with tormented souls. I very much liked your Traitor and Rebellion, but this one is even better.
Rogue Callista 12/5/03 . chapter 1
I'm not sure why I didn't review this story before...it was on my favorites list, though, so I must have enjoyed it. Anyhow, I came back and reread it, and I have to tell you what a skillfully written gem of a story this is.
Short but sweet, I think the characterization is what draws me to it the most. I've always had a sneaking sympathy for Admiral Piett, and you cut right to the core of his character in a few words, adding a depth to him that we never got to see in the movies. I would have to say that this is one of my favorite Star Wars fics of all time!

This was wonderful. You've provided a very human and sympathetic background for a man who was an intriguing minor character, but about whom fiction authors rarely write. This story helps elevate Piett from being just an Imperial officer to being a thinking, feeling person. I particularly loved his humorous comment to Capt. Tralut. A very moving and engaging piece.

I can't think where, but I know I've read both the stories before. It was a great pleasure to read them again. Both are dramatic, touching stories, giving depth to Piett and Veers, and also an amazing piece of writing.
