Oh, the unpredictable Itachi. By all rights, he can just spill... but he also has to keep up his murderer charade to the end or he risks betraying his clan's image and sacrifice to the village. I feel like his death in the manga was way premature. Kishimoto built up the suspense and mystery surrounding Itachi, reveals most of it in a few short chapters, and offs the guy! There is so much potential and possibility in this story, because Itachi has all these complicated relationships to everyone relevant to the plot and now that he's alive...
So yes, I really do want to see more of this, and all the more power for not listing romance as a genre (especially not ItaSaku... unfeasible and OCC). Alive!Itachi is so incredibly AU that I can only imagine a story very, very, very different from canon (no complaints here). Please, release the awesome AU power!

I like the style you're trying here... it's edgy and just the slightest bit refined... I'm too exhausted to think of adequate adjectives to describe what you're working here, but I am in love with this story... You're one of the few who could pull this off without it coming off as a "I wish this is what had happened... I R GUNNA RITE ABOUT IT, KTHXBAI LOL!"

Now that I'm done inflating your ego, a critque; you have the same problem I do of not describing surroundings unless they are vitally important. Maybe some more location-detail would make this even better. (That's the cheat of fanfiction... it can be asumed our audiences already know the majority of locations.)

Itachi's POV section was my favorite part; the moment when he cannot see, and lungs dissolving like wet paper cranes? Lovely phrasing. :D

I can't wait to see interaction among Naruto, Sakura, and Itachi. Also, Sasuke's reaction if/when he finds out about this. :P

Oh man, I seriously cannot wait for the next update to this. You write one hell of an opening, missy. I'm actually really intrigued by the possibility of a platonic friendship between Itachi and Sakura/Naruto, even though that would take some work XD.

This is really interesting, I can't wait for your next update!
