You capture so much in a few well chosen words. Beauty fades, but vanity is forever! LOL Great characterization of the aging Scarlett and Rhett. It all fits nicely with the previous sketches. I especially like that they were summering in Nice. I was there is March--wonderful city, beautiful Côte d'Azur.

I like what you did with this little vignette! It is so funny, both here and in the book. One thing, imbibe means to drink. Perhaps you meant imbue, to permeate or saturate? Just the same your meaning comes across, Scarlett is so provincial compared to her worldly husband. Nice!

Oh, I can so see them have this little talk. She too dim, he too snobbish. I guess outside the bedroom they just did not speak the same language. Good luck with the studies!! Don't be too long.

This is one of my favorite dumb Scarlett moments in the book--somehow she makes that mistake so incredibly endearing. I can't stop laughing.

Can you write more of these, please?

Hey, you're back! I missed these. This was so beautiful, you really have a gift for little telling details. I love the second paragraph so much.

Ah yes, we keep forgetting that next to the things that happened with/to Philippe, Ellen had suffered three other major tragedies. The poor woman, she must have been so unhappy... This was very touching. A major achievement with such few sentences.

Working hard on the Ficathon-entry? ;-).

You blow me away with these small, but marvelously evocative portraits. Great image, *rabbit caught in a trap*, she certainly was. I love your writing!

So you got one for us every single day? As somebody pointed out to me today these are exceptionally good.

I look forward seeing what you can do with a 10 words or more...

These are very beautiful and original and they show good insight into the characters' world. I do get the concept of drabble, but I can't stop wishing you'd also give us a longer story. It's bound to be extremely good judging by the quality of these pieces.
