TheMacUnleashed 2009-09-18 . chapter 8This is a great ending -you managed to tie up any loose endings, even if there is more of a story to be told. Poor Vinka, she has such a sad past, and I think out of all the characters in this story, she's my favorite. I look forwards to more chapters, if you find the time and motivation to write them! |
Torli 2009-09-18 . chapter 8I certainly like this story as a whole and I don´t think that you should add any more chapters - it may disrupt the complete picture readers get from it.
The part with bonding ceremony was...well, interesting.I really thought that Vinka was going to reject Jián for a while.
And the last paragraph...that really is a masterpiece in itself. Maybe you can consider using it as a summarization of this story. In my opinion, it was written just to do it. |
pronker 2009-09-18 . chapter 8Whether this is the end of the tale or not, it was completely believable that some Jedi would cobble together a new Order as best they could. Your characters, good luck to them! I especially liked the minute-by-minute approach to the story, detailing the emotions and gradual coming together of their new lives. Mentions of the canon Jedi didn't hurt either. |
pronker 2009-09-16 . chapter 7You're detailing her emotions and sense of flailing along quite well; it would be such a trauma, to lose all one's support system except for a few fellows, whom she doesn't even know all that well. Excellent point about her not being able to think of her Padawan in that place. |
Torli 2009-09-07 . chapter 7Hooded man? Tsk, that one sounds like Dooku hiring Jango...but how much choice one has when he wants to hide himself??
But nice inter-chapter. Just part of the story. |
TheMacUnleashed 2009-09-06 . chapter 7Good chapter! Things are starting to pick up now. Jián continues to be a tough, realistic character -I'm envious of your ability to make such strong OCs. I also enjoyed the reactions she had to the HoloNets' reports -it makes you wonder how many Jedi just lost hope, and how many continued having faith, like she did. |
 G-Anakin13 2009-08-23 . chapter 6Great job! |
pronker 2009-08-23 . chapter 6Talking to her Padawan again, good for her mental health, and dealing with being a leader, hooboy. The different characters' personalities are being tested in this new fire, and all sorts of things are cropping up. I think that would be tough to handle, even for a Jedi. They'd probably all split up and be destroyed individually if they were non-Jedi. |
TheMacUnleashed 2009-08-23 . chapter 6Great update! You write very realistic dialogue, and in particular I enjoyed the beginning of the chapter when the characters discussed how the Jedi were being portrayed on the HoloNet: While the aftermath of Order 66 gets covered frequently in fanfiction, you rarely read about just what normal citizens thought about the event. |
Torli 2009-08-14 . chapter 5This time, I will only point out the part I really like - Jian´s memories of her Master´s remarks - "Careful, she bites pretty hard." is also my favourite one.:) |
pronker 2009-08-10 . chapter 5The character interaction is going very well, and the diversity angle I hadn't thought of - it says something about the Jedi that they accept everyone force-sensitive and that the new regime is showing itself to be human-centric. That might come up later, but the reason this chappie stood out is that each time Jian thinks about Merrek, she seems more and more understandable, more and more a real person striving to do the right thing as leader. And that cannot be easy, as you're showing. |
Arashi Maxwell 2009-08-10 . chapter 5Well...this is an interesting idea. I'm rather caught up in seeing what happens. And I feel so bad for the little guys! I always wonder if there were any Jedi who survived Order 66.
I'll be looking forward to reading the next chapter. ^^ |
TheMacUnleashed 2009-08-10 . chapter 5Lovely chapter, Elemarth. I enjoyed where you mentioned how Twi'leks tend to be seen in the galaxy- even with the Jedi, i.e. Aayla Secura, they are noted first and foremost for their looks. And I also liked Jián's wondering about whether honesty or hope was more useful for answering Irik's question. Sometimes, you just have to face the truth, even if you don't want to. |
 RiverOtter1 2009-07-25 . chapter 4Hello!
Oh, wow! Great story - I love it! The idea of it is so powerful and such a good story plot! I really feel bad whenever I watch Order 66 :( Your story really held the pain well - fantastic writing! I feel sympathy for these poor survivors really strongly. The line about candles is also really touching - great work on that!
Keep up the great work!

TheMacUnleashed 2009-07-24 . chapter 4Awesome chapter! Poor Vinka- you gave us a lot of information as to her character. I also really enjoyed the end: It highlighted the symbolism of the story's name, and your final line was just plain haunting. |
