Aura Nightgale 2009-11-20 . chapter 5Even if I've never played this game and only know what Wikipedia tells me about it, I now want to.
All of these poems were good - unusual pacing, but it all worked really well and they were fun to read - but V was...somehow, insanely awesome. I can't say as I've ever seen something put together like that for more than a couple lines that wasn't corny or just plain stupid.
As someone else mentioned, ever considered going into writing plays? =P |

Lameness aside, I am no poetry expert, for sure (-painful tenth grade English memories here-), but you have crafted some excellent rhymes! Okay, this review may be pointless, but…maybe you will enjoy it anyway?
I. – You really have a way with rhymes—each stanza/line was very tightly written, and of course you didn’t make the rhyme scheme corny at all, as the trap most people fall in. Gives something very simple like this game a little darkness. The rhyme scheme confused me, but that’s because it’s not AB…uh…A…B, so that is because I am stupid.
II – I tend to be tentative about modern crazy FREESTYLE poetry, but you do it well! I thought you put a lot of thought as to where you broke off the words, and the emphasis was effective. I also loved the color bits, although I didn’t really understand…them…sometimes. I’m assuming it’s the game, though.
This is my favorite line so far:
“Paint-fu is fifteen percent inventiveness.”
Heh heh heh.
I – Aw, I liked it! It shows a very interesting side of this Blob…person…I suspect. Realistic feelings.
IV – Oh, HURRAY, everyone loves haikus, best sort of thing for imagery and stuff. Anyway, great job, of course, and particularly loved the play on words with the last line. I suspect these images would make more sense to me if I had actually played the game, but they are still very pretty.
V – Oh, my god. *Musical* form? That is the greatest thing ever, since I read that Ocarina of Time musical (called “Hey, Ocarina”—have you ever read it?). Anyway, it was delightful, of course. All actions described to precision, and—heh, musical aspects were excellent, and every thing was energetic. Have you ever considered writing plays? :D…
Anyway, really great job, Tiki! I’d have to say my favorite was two, followed by four and five, but I think they were all exceptional. I was walking by the game section in a store the other day, and I saw this game…it looks amusing. Is it Katamari-esque? Well, thumbs up, story-wise, from me. |

and statues, monuments!, all in your name
The city needs you, Blob. You'll have to fight.
But first, we rest. Tonight will be our night.
My favorite part. =) |
