So poetic. Despite the sad story behind it this piece really did make me smile after I read it.
Despite what Obi Wan endured throughout his time as a student, a master and an exile, his resolve never wavered and his ability to teach and encourage never subsided, in fact it only ever made him a greater role model and a stronger hero.
That is why he remains to be my favorite Star Wars character from the movies.
And this piece which you've written so wonderfully helped remind me of that, as I now am going through some difficult times.
Wow, this was so sad! Well-written, though.
And it finally gives a convincing explanation for this particular scene in TPM! This is one of the best (if not the best) attempt of explaining Obi-Wan's behaviour I have seen so far.

Incredibly sad. Very well-written and a not too obvious glance into the psyche of Obi-Wan Kenobi. When I first watched TPM, I thought Qui-Gon was so arrogant and at times very condescending to Obi-Wan. Most of the affection we attributed to this pair was actually one-sided. Obi-Wan was the giving one with Qui-Gon as the unaffected recipient. Only when it suited Qui-Gon, did he show any affection or thought to others. This was a very moving piece and I can see the logic behind the reasoning. Good work!!
