Nice chapter and great to see more of Mrs Hudson. I must say I'm a bit (a tiny bit!) disappointed to see such an obvious non-slash chappy. You know it's more fun to tiptoe around the bush :) But all your characters are really lovely. Thanks for your work

Well I can't refuse a review request, that was rude of me. I like the attitude you are taking with these vignettes. You are walking a fine line, and doing it wonderfully, IMO. This is crack, but you write it so well that I can visualize all this actually happening. If you come up with more ideas, please continue, these really are a treat to read and explore the H&W friendship in a way that I've not seen before.

And they are flat out hilarious. This is my kind of humor. You put a lot of thought into this and it shows.

(smothers snickers) Well, yes, Mrs. Hudson language did raise my eyebrow a fraction but actually, as their landlady she has a far simpler way of knowing if men have been having sex in the rooms -- the bed sheets. ;) (That's a small part of what did in Oscar Wilde.)

Holmes and Watson in bed are amusing. Beside, any well-educated person in that time periods knew at least a small bit of French, and to a lesser extent German. (But I love that Holmes called Watson "dear heart!")

Comedic and fluffy. Just what I needed to see tonight. I really enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing.

and i loved the last chapter - sometimes things have to be dark

There was at one point a slash!fic out there where Holmes is wasted out of his mind and ends up raping Watson (up to that point the sex had been consensual) but the story was taken down by the author YEARS ago . . . say around 2002 or so. So I think it's pretty safe to say yours is presently the only fic where Holmes "deliberately" hurts Watson. (Oh! except for that one scene in KCS's "Broken and Buried" where Holmes tries to hit Watson but is so weak Watson easily deflects it. I'm not sure that counts.)


Anyhoo, I adore the image of Watson upending the brandy all over the couch so Holmes doesn't get an easy-out. At first I thought it seemed like Watson was trying to force Holmes to choose not to indulge but then it made sense: Holmes did promise he would not indulge BEFORE BED and he was about to break that promise. Watson was well within his right to protest that.

yet another fine chapter - you are spoiling us!! it was definitely worth the wait!

the only thing that really jarred with me was your spelling of the word perjur (from perjury)... and i didn't know how to spell it until i went and looked it up in an actual paper dictionary i keep on my desk for when the class are being pains about their work!!

and the violent outbursts are actually much more likely in your scenario than many other fics - after all if watson had not been in a 'this is a spafe and sleepy area' headspace, which the sitting room was not, holmes would nver have gotten close enoguh to beat him... or thats what i think, anyway...
