Lovely little one shot-- morose, but lovely all the same. I adore the transition between time, and how the motives in the plot are revealed after the action in pieces.

This was very...unusually structured. Experimental? I don't know. It wasn't conventional, in any case, but I think you managed to make it it work regardless. It's very lyrical, despite/because of all the line breaks, which goes very well with the whole 'fluidity of time' thing you portray with the now/then dynamic, especially as how that dynamic starts to break down toward the end. Everything is falling apart, like sentence structure. There is an ambiguity to the characters' personalities and motives, and also to exactly what is going on in all these scenes, but I think that it's fitting to the spirit of the story, which is more impressionistic than anything else.
And I like the touch of Piper/Cyclonis you put in there! It was very subtle and deft, and I appreciated it because that's one of my favorite pairings. :P (Well, after Dark Ace/Cyclonis. And Dark Ace/Piper. And Dark Ace/Aerrow. But you know what, it's up there.) Anyway, the primary relationship here is Aerrow/Cyclonis, which was also very well done; they've been enemies for a while, so they must've gotten to know each other at least a bit, and you show that wonderfully. You also didn't overdo it, which is also important. They are enemies, after all; so many Aerrow/Cyclonis fics forget this at the last moment. Hate and despair and regret--it is all very fitting.

*hisses at everyone who reviewed before her*

I saw this the moment it was posted, but unfortunately I was stuck eight hours in a beauty salon watching my mom have fun. I finally remembered that my dad recently upgraded my cellphone and allowed me to have internet access through it. Facebook, hotmail, livejournal, and then eventually fanfiction.

Now, when I saw your name at the top of the list, I literally squealed and stomped my feet and danced for joy so loud the beauty salon stopped and stared at my and I, quite without shame, told them one of my favorite writers had updated. My status as "nerd" firmly stamped on my forehead, I ran to a couch, cuddled up, and started reading. I squealed again when the summary said I inspired you...

...and that was about the time that I wanted to kind of turn off the phone...

Woman, you SCARE me.

Like, FRIGHTEN me.

You must have opened up a portal into my head and started writing or something and that scares me. MINDWORMS! NRG! It was unsettling to see something that looks like I wrote it... only knowing it's not. It's undefinable! It's twilight zone! It left me physically dizzy! And so, we're talking about a story, and when a STORY leaves you feeling PHYSICALLY DIZZY jesus fucking christ you evolved into a legendary pokemon Crystal.

I tried leaving a review via my phone last night but its crappy and inconsistent and had a word limit so I decided to wait until I got home. Only there was no internet until noonish today.

So let me just say, that I am deeply honored, and flattered, and a million other things that I don't have the words for.

And creeped out.

In a good way.

In a way that makes me happy inside.

Very deep, you are a fantastic writer especially when writing about something as horrible as this somebody dying and bleeding, you put what's going through the person's mind and give the reader a description of their physical being...I know I use a lot of big words.

Great story, keep writing!

That was amazingly written. The characters were portrayed perfectly. Well done!
