Rikku Ree 2009-09-08 . chapter 6I like the whole thing. It's very interesting, though I don't understand who's talking/ being described at times. Like, you keep changing Erik with Earl, Dragon and Don Juan, it's good way of differentiating when Erik is in killing mode and etc., but too much can confuse many readers, such as myself.
So am I right to assume that Erik has a twin now? @.@
Anyway update soon so that I can clear up the confusion XD I wanna see Erik meet Christine :D |
Wandering-Recluse 2009-09-01 . chapter 6Great chapter! Thanks for updating! That was a really good scene from Erik and Christine's past. I laughed. Anyway-update soon please! |
gravity01 2009-07-05 . chapter 5Not sure what to say about this chapter. That was a really strange dream Erik had... I wonder what it could mean. Is Philippe actually still alive somehow, or is it symbolic of something else? And I wonder about the significance of the necklace... Philippe wearing a necklace bearing his family's crest isn't odd, and yet something about it made Erik pause.
One question - "Erik looked confused and went to the spot where his brother had lain. There he was… dead." Did the 'he' refer to Philippe, being dead still, in two places at once, or was Erik seeing himself dead? Both are definitely chill-worthy.
I did catch one small grammar thingy. "He dawned his cloak and black mask" - Perhaps you meant 'donned'?
I loved your description of Erik in action. He sounds so wonderfully graceful. And the fact that he was bored the whole time just made it better. It's just too bad he couldn't get any information from them, though I suppose whether or not they cooperated was pretty inconsequential where Erik is concerned. He is so great.
Well, I just can't wait for him to find Christine! Will he be able to keep his cool demeanor when he sees her again--especially considering the bad shape she was in last time we saw her?
This is a wonderful story. Very original, which I definitely appreciate. I hope you update soon. |
debkay 2009-06-26 . chapter 4Finally - poor Christine will be rescued. What will Erik think of the condition she is in now?
And how horribly Phillipe died!
Good story. |
Erika Dyer 2009-06-26 . chapter 4I am not sure I totally trust Raoul. I have a feeling he is behind Philippe's death, but this is totally quessing. Oh I wonder what happened to Erik to cause his disfigurement. More please! He needs to save Christine soon!! |
gravity01 2009-06-25 . chapter 4Oh NOW I get it! The Chagney's kept him so that nobody would find out that he wasn't theirs. That makes a lot of sense. Wait... did they keep him? Did he live with the Earl or the Chagney's? I thought this said that he lived with his father... but then how would his stepfather explain THAT to people without revealing his shameful birth?
The numbers of ages don't add up, though. Philippe could not have been six years old when Raoul was a baby, since if he is 26 and Raoul is 18, Philippe is eight years older. Not to mention, if Erik is five years younger than Philippe, he would have had to be one year old when he came home crying about his cruel stepfather, and I'm not sure I can see a baby doing that.
I love Erik's father. He is such a wonderful man. "the great James de Chagny, viscount extraordinaire, cannot even keep a hold of his wife" I liked that a lot. He didn't belittle his love for her by calling her a **. He merely challenged her husband as a man. Very nice wording.
"She had died before they could finish the conversation and Erik had never forgotten the look in his father’s eyes. He cursed the accident that had lost him his face; the beautiful young man he had been since he was born was gone." Very interesting... does this mean that the accident that ruined his face is the same thing that killed his mother?
Oh, how interesting! He was 'assigned' to rescue Christine. What is his occupation then? Like some sort of hero for hire? You've got me picturing him as some sort of superhero with a secret identity (an ordinary Earl by day... becomes The Dragon when danger calls!). He sounds dangerous. I am excited to see how that gets explained.
NO! You killed Philippe!?! That's horrible! He was the good one. Kill off stupid Raoul, instead. But then I guess Erik wouldn't have any competition for Christine. It was sweet, though, to see Erik being a good big brother even though Raoul is a butthead.
Intriguing chapter. I can't wait to see where you take this. Please update soon! Christine needs rescuing asap! |
Wandering-Recluse 2009-06-25 . chapter 4Aw-poor Erik! And Raoul! And interesting idea there-having Erik and Christine be childhood sweethearts. I hope we see some E/C interaction-in the next chapter at least! Please? |
debkay 2009-06-20 . chapter 3How utterly horrible for Christine! How the heck did she get in such a position?
Erik needs to come to her rescue and quick! |
Erika Dyer 2009-06-20 . chapter 3Poor Christine! That is terrible. I don't know where you plan to take this, but in real life she would be so screwed up by something like that I doubt she would ever recover. Anyways, i hope you update soon. |
Wandering-Recluse 2009-06-19 . chapter 3Aw, poor Christine! I hope Erik finds her soon! And can you please, please write longer chapters? I love this story so much and long chapters are always nice... |
gravity01 2009-06-19 . chapter 3How horrible! How did she get into that situation? More importantly... how's she gonna get out? Come save her, Erik! |
CarmineKiss 2009-06-18 . chapter 2I am loving this story so far! I can't wait for Erik to finally meet Christine...=] Update soon or I might die! |
debkay 2009-06-18 . chapter 2So strange to see Erik with such a loving father but really strange to see such a loving Philippe-a nice deviation from all the other stories!
I'm looking forward to Christine coming into the mix.
Interesting chapter for sure. |
The Daughter of santan 2009-06-17 . chapter 2intersting (Can't spell) chapter. The man at the end kinda sounded like the devil or something.
On to a more serious matter where in the hell (Pardon my language) did you get that picture? I have looked everywhere I can think of for it? |
gravity01 2009-06-17 . chapter 2That was so, so sad! Poor Erik. I'm really liking Philippe, though. He's a wonderful big brother.
Okay, more questions: Why did the viscount stay with his wife even after she had another man's child? I mean, did he know she'd cheated on him while she was pregnant, or did he figure it out when the baby was born? But, it seems like for social reasons, if none other, he wouldn't stay married to a man who cheated and made a fool out of him. But he did, and even had another child with her. So, what happened to Erik? Was he raised by his father, then? Even IF the viscount decided to forgive his wife, I can't see him allowing her to continue seeing her lover, even if he was the father of her child. Neither can I conceive of the possibility of him willing to raise this other man's child (since he didn't even give him the Chagney name). Then again, Erik being raised by the Earl instead of his mother would explain his strong attachment to his father.
I figure you're probably going to answer all this later, anyway, so I apologize if I'm getting ahead of myself... but those were just the thoughts going through my brain as I read this.
Wonderful writing. I hope you update really soon. |
