That was a touching moment.

I love that Shaun thinks of Cody as his son already. He's such a great comforter. He always knows what to do or say to make the people around him feel safe and loved, and this perfectly portrayed this.

I really adore this story. It's such a lovely snapshot of the family's evolution over time. Shaun changing his last name was the most adorable, loving gesture EVER. And LOVE his conversation with Cody--so true to the characters, and so lifelike, I could visualize it happening. Please write more Shelter!

I love Zach not telling Ari that Cody is his nephew. Shaun is right - Cody is all Zach's. Well, and Shaun's, too, definitely. ^_^

Okay, I lied about loving every bit. I hate Mr. and Mrs. Holten. They're the kind of people that I just can't stand. I am so glad that Shaun and Zach won that battle. :D
