Love it! Merlin is slightly evil... but all in the name of unrequited love. I'm sure Arthur knows more... He can't be that naive can he?

Brilliant story! I enjoyed your portrayal of Merlin and Arthur's relationship. Dven though you've said you couldn't manage requited Arthur/Merlin, I think you have managed to create one. It's intimate and it feels deeply personal between both of them. I loved it!! :)

Oh, excellent. This speaks to the SOUL. How... sometimes, you find a person that you love to such an extent that you don't mind if they fail to return the sentiment in full. It hurts like fire, but that's jsut how it will be, because you love them unconditionally, and always will. Merlin is fiercely self-sacrificing and loyal and vengful and HEARTWRENCHING here. I liked it.

Oh, and I loved the bit with the elemental throne that Merlin conjured toward the beginning of the story. Very vivid. =)

I think Arthur does know more...he always does, especially if it involves Merlin.

I love their friendship too, and their romance and unrequited love sucks majorly for some people, but it was still so sweet.

I love it. It was so beautiful, so sad.

This is really good. Feel kind of bad for Merlin, but making it a platonic and unrequited love works really nicely for this story. I really enjoyed reading this, great job^^.

Haunting! Didn't like the Gwen pairings at all. But the merther one was just sad! Very beautiful piece!

First and foremost, the title for this fic is t3h awesomes :3

Secondly, this whole thing was bloody awesome! Everyone's delightfully in character, the story is turbulent and heartwrenching, something you're quite good at, aren't ya? ;3 I especially liked the running motif of "not Gwen, Gwen is dead"/"because his friend Gwen is dead". That was excellent.

Fave lines:

'For all his worldly experiences, for all his sins, he is still the same idealistic young fool that stumbled into Camelot all those years before, armed with naught but an unwavering dream and a misguided sense of honor.' - Excellent. This alone sums up Lancelot.

'When he looks up his eyes are glowing, inhuman, gold.' - Chilling, as well as the speech Merlin delivered beforehand.

'He feels like he’s been screaming for days' - Win.

'if embarrassed—a hair-curling curse, Merlin? Really? If you’re going to start threatening the staff, couldn’t you think of something better than that?' - LOL.

'Maybe Arthur would not thank him, should he ever learn of the romance—the treason—Merlin had erased, but for his love, his liege, his lord, he would do far more than that: he would topple the world.' - Perfect way to close off the chapter.

And I just noticed on your profile that you do Eragon fics. Guess where I'm going next -shifty eyes- XD

Um yeah, so this was brilliant! Heart-breaking, moving, emotional, and so splendidly written! Wow, I just loved it :D. I have to say that I'm a big fan of the whole "dark" side of Merlin and you captured this very well. Also, I agree completely that their relationship is so fantastic and their love so genuine and strong that it doesn't have to be sexual at all. I actually feel like this is horribly in character and could actually be canon (if the show were permitted to be a little darker and less family-focused) :D

Wow, I loved this! Especially Merlin's line: "you-weren't-listening." It gave me chills; I can just imagine him reacting like that. And I liked how you showed the complexity of Arthur and Merlin's relationship.
You're quite a good writer! I must now go and read more of your stories.

I love how you've woven together pieces of the legend and pieces of the show.

The scene of Guinevere and Lancelot being found out, the mention of him saving her from the pyre, the treks to the countryside-- I love it all.

And Merlin's insistence that 'Gwen' is dead is heartbreaking.

That last scene before he erases their memories is awesome! Thank you for writing. :D :D

YES! I agree with your PS. In the series, Merlin is a fool to think Arthur does not care for him as much as he obviously does! Your story nearly made me cry at the end... Arthur/Merlin forever! They're my new fave pairing! =P
