Hidden Relevance 2009-06-29 . chapter 5Oh my god, I absolutely cannot believe this doesn't have more reviews.
Is it dark? Absolutely. Is it a side of Bones we don't really want to see? Again, absolutely.
But is is utterly brilliantly written, and authentically well portraying the problem? Damn straight.
As a child of an alcoholic (which puts my ubercrush on McCoy into a rather unhappy light but oh well) I definitely applaud your portrayal of this! |
Fett012000 2009-06-21 . chapter 5Wow...this is really getting deep. The detail and exquisite care you've taken to really flesh out this problem that is generally cheerfully nodded to in TOS. "Ha ha...bones is havin' a drink again..." sorta thing is totally changed to, as you've said, a bleeding chest wound that although horrible to look at makes you want to stare more out of morbid curiosity. I think this is shaping up to be one of the best character studies of McCoy I've seen. Plz continue, it's great. :D |
 Sareh 2009-06-17 . chapter 2Ooh, interesting.
I like your style of writing. Just the right mix of reflective narrative & action. Jim's personality seems spot-on, too. I look forward to reading more.. finding out about what happened to Bones, especially. And also about how the interview in the prologue came about.
Keep up the great writing! |
Christina TM 2009-06-17 . chapter 2This has great potential! I will be watching it with much interest. I hope you update soon! |
kendrat199 2009-06-17 . chapter 2Wow, that's a friend right there! Oh, I hope Jim doesn't see something frightful. I am reminded of the "One Who Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" for some reason. I ♥ this chapter, it was gritty, and realistic! Thank you for making a wonderful read, though it's dark!

kendrat199 2009-06-17 . chapter 1Eek! Poor McCoy! Is he talking to a therapist or something. This hurts me that he's so depressed, yet I need to read more. Onto chapter 2. Please don't make him into an alcoholic, my little Star Trek heart won't be able to take it.
