Good piece, Severus has already reconsidered his priorities, but without a drastic hcange in personality, he isn't going to run to Dumbledore any time soon. Good thing that they are thinking for themselves, and that Severus isn't one for heroic stunts (wouldn't want him to transform into some kind of Potter-look-a-like), that could save their lives in the future. Will they really leave school? Or was it just a figure of speech?

I thought the twist at the end was a bit abrupt, but I really liked most of this fic. How much do I (heart) Regulus, OMG! And of course you have a good handle on Severus as usual.

I like this quite a bit, but I have to wonder if it is only a one-shot, as I would like to see where it would go.

That's the way to do AU! I loved all the elements of this story~ Remus's sudden assertiveness and the way it manifested between him and Sirius. The deviance brewing in Peter... And of course, Regulus's wisdom and his tender adoration for Sev.

The ending was such a pleasant surprise. I was waiting for smut and abandonment but you kept the ball rolling as always. My favorite line: "Her eyes were sparkling bright, with the look he remembered from their childhood, the look she used to get when he had told her stories of spells and potions, of Hogwarts, of a world of wonder where all there would be was her, and him and the magic."

That line describes the real, unadulterated Lily and it seemed like that person was in danger of disappearing. I really liked how you showed that she was hiding just beneath the surface- where only Sev could reach her. The fact that her emergence had the ability to bring out Sev's true self was touching as well. Loved that simplicity. Beautifully done!
