Loved this one! I can't wait for seaons #5 because I have no idea where they are going after that finale. I am hoping they don't just skip over everything like they did at the start of Season #3 & #4. I need to know how Dean got Sam out of that place and how Sam is going to cope with going against Dean and bringing on the apocalypse. He was just so sure... and so was I. I thought Dean would stop it by stopping Sam... Now, I have no idea where it is going... Thanks for posting.

I've been thinking, too, about Sam's request of Dean in Playthings and how S3 Sam would be appalled at what S4 Sam's become. This reaction...I think it's more a S3 one, pre losing Dean twice, pre blood addiction, pre Sam thinking he was the only one who could stop Lilith. By the time Monster at the end of the Book rolls around, I'm thinking Sam would be more likely to take off or get mad than kill himself. But I miss that worried, scared earlier Sam who would've had every reason to take Dean's words at face value and would rather commit suicide than go bad. Thanks for the gentle revisit.

You do the BEST hurt!Sam and protective!Dean. Just makes my insides melt. (I shouldn't be reading this, because we haven't seen the episode in Australia yet, but the explosion it caused in cyberspace meant that I just had to spoil myself and check things out.) Great story!

Wow, what a heart-wrenching fic! I felt so shattered at Sam's suicide attempt; not solely because of the deed itself but about how desperate he was. It was heart-breaking to learn Sam believes his big brother, the guy he looked up to for all his life, had already given up on him. *sobs inconsolably*

My poor heart honestly skipped a couple of beats when Sam trained the gun on himself, especially since he thought Dean's reactions was based on fear of him. You can't imagine the utter relief that overwhealmed me at Dean being fast enough to make the shot stray from its target and so desperately fight for Sam to give up his struggles. Dean did such an awesome job of convincing his baby brother how much he still meant to him despite what had happened between them lately.

Sammy has a way of tugging at my heartstrings. My jaw actually dropped when Dean said that on the show. Nice work!

WOW! So I was getting teary eyed...it was amazing. I wish something like this had happened in the show. You wrote this amazingly, and kept the characters true to how they are. All I can think is WOW!

Most excellent and certainly something Sam could have been thinking. I gotta think now - it's even worse. One thing is definitely a constant, Sam always believes Dean. So, Dean telling him it wasn't possible would have fixed things for Sam (just as you wrote it).

Dean is the reason Sam keep fighting and believing in himself when he doesnt believe for his own.

OMG!! That was great. You really captured Sam's broken spirit and Dean, when he lowers the bag, oh my lol. I started crying right then. I really hope the Show addresses Sam's crushing guilt and lack of hope next season. It's much needed!
