kycatsfan 2009-08-19 . chapter 1Great story! These are two of my most favorite books, so it was great to read a crossover with them. I loved the situation you created with Scarlett and Laurie. I thought they were both totally in character, and if they had ever met, I could definitely see them in this situation. I loved your writing style too. Couldn't you please write another story like this? Please? |
iris fibonacci 2009-06-21 . chapter 1This crossover was inventive, creative and fun to read. That the March girls and Scarlett were contemporaries was a striking idea, on the eve of the Civil War no less. The contrast between their Northern sensibilities and Scarlett's Southern belle behavior is comical, and in some ways, those cultural differences still exist today. Scarlett did seem a little desperate with Laurie, but then she still was still a belle-in-training, LOL.
I liked how you moved the action forward to the years after the novel Scarlett and had the Butlers and the Laurences meet again in a social setting in the South. There were so many great lines, I can't decide which to highlight: Rhett's polite contempt for the Yankees, looking down his nose at the bourgeoise satisfaction of the Moffats, Scarlett admiring Amy's dress and making a mental note to get the name of her dressmaker, comparing the two daughters and describing Cat as a piratess.
I really enjoyed this story. I hope you come up with some more crossovers of this sort! |
