So many conflicting emotions in this chapter

Much like life.

And death.

Well done

2009-10-20 . chapter 19
A warrior is given her final sendoff and is surrounded by those she never met, nor will ever meet until they make the trek she has taken before them. Much too soon.

'Family' not of blood, but of having given blood, and sometimes more, came to hold her in their arms before placing her in her final resting place. Honor before all else.

The visit with Faith and Carl's children was a brief, pleasant respite in the solemn occasion that was the returning of a friend and family member to her final resting place.

From this little sojourn of the four, will come a bonding and intertwining of more than friendship. It will be as the bonding of 'family' in such a way that neither Kim nor Ron will ever doubt as this continues.

They'll need it in the times to come.

Ah the fame of Team Possible keeps cropping up in the most unusual places huh? That was a sweet scene between Kim/Ron and the kids. That's a visit they won't forget anytime soon.

I loved the spontaneous show of affection between Kim and Ron there. It looks like they are finally back on track. The lesson Kim gives Sagara about how females fight shows he still has things to learn.

The final good by to Lt. Grace LT Wiseman was touching and a fitting tribute to a fallen hero. Taps always brings a tear to my eyes.

Good Chapter, stoneface, tears. Remembering, Attention on Deck. Right hand salute, too.

nice update on several levels Armydude. I can tell you've done this before. Not much more to be said about that is there?

With the kids, that was well done too. Kim and Ron are both naturals when it comes to dealing with the public. This will help in the future...I think.

As for the excercises. Since I carry a 4th Dan in TaeKwonDo, I CAN tell you that we teach all our students to punch with the hip twist included. That and using the other hand to pull the punching hand through. (it's easier to show than explain) Most new students are surpised but the speed and power they can generate by doing that.

Thanks for the shout too,

Good to see Kim and Ron back together, and the way you described the service was fantastic.

Another great chapter, I reread them when you add another. I noted that you called the M14 old fashioned, in Chapter 16. I used a 30-40 Krag for my hunting rifle, that was used in the Spanish-American war. That's old fashioned, I hit what I aimed at up to 200 yards. My father, a WWII sniper, could take that rifle and at 500 yards call his shot (iron sights). If I didn't have to hump the ammo, I liked the M14 over the M16 for the accuracy on long shots. I had a telescopic sight on my working rifle on board ship and could hit a mine(simulated and other wise) at 500 yards, I was not the best shot on most of my ships, I watched a few snipers and was envious of them. Keep up the good work. Thank You.

Hey, don't dis the previewing... LOL!

Beginnings in Middleton for Wade and the geek wet dream he's found himself in at his new digs. Now if he could just make sure that the Tweebs don't keep crashing the party, they won't have to worry about some whack project of theirs going amok...

Another glimpse of the reaches into the heart and soul of the brotherhood/sisterhood of the Services shocks Kim and Ron. The sacrifices and comforts given and made for those who give all for others shows more depth and breadth than they ever knew or felt. Maybe someday, they'll understand because they've experienced and learned.

Du gets his 'wings' clipped, or rather sand pounded... before he is forced out for a time. Just wish he didn't get that third option from Betty. It may have saved the world some unnecessary grief from the overblown ego.

So now Dementor starts to play his hand and is gathering the first chess piece? No respect for the lovelorn Amy, huh?

Hey CajunBear...I think Armydude firgured us out. Rats...This is very good on the Wade front getting the equipment running. I can see that he'll even have Frankenstien screaming.

So now Top Agent Du is going to be out of the loop for a bit. You know I'd love to see Ron tear into him in this story. I really can't with the one that I'm posting right now...But I DU have one later that I think you will like AD.

Am loving it, Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the update and the shout,

I really enjoyed watching Du get taken down a peg or two. It looks like he isn't going to learn any lessons from hit however.

Kim and Ron have been getting a crash course in how the military and it customs operate. It shouldn't be too much of a surprise that they work in the same fashion themselves. People who operate in dangerous situations all work like that.

The telling of LT Wiseman's last mission was both heartbreaking and soul southing at the same time. A little closure is a good thing.

Now what's our favorite nutty German up to now?

Why do I suspect that Dementor will be one of the Bad Guys?

And that Drakken and his feud was deeper the Drew knew?

Nice chapter

Look forward to more

You brought proud memories back, 1969-1970, I remembered what I had done. I stood in the firing squad, helping with the 21 gun salute, stone faced with tears running down my face. I was the squad leader one time, listening to Taps (I still hear it and choke up) and counting to ensure that all the rounds fired were spaced properly, fire and one, fire and two, fire and three. One time we were short so only had three in the squad, making sure we fired seven times. I was glad that I didn't fold the flag, I was a clutz when doing that. Please continue, I like your story, as Captain Kodak says, Right Hand Salute.

A very well written and moving tribute to a fallen hero. Well Done. You brought the grief of the family, Sousuke's nervousness at meeting his deceased companion's family and the fury of the chief and Ron over Du's disrespect to everyone, in full flower here.
