That was...stunning. It reads slowly, images all the more poignant in their brevity.

"This land is the bleeding corpse of a dream deferred, she thinks." Reference to Langston Hughes is brilliant. And the sentence, fitting.

It's not so much Konan's pain that is felt--paradoxically, it hurts too much to be pain--but this quiet struggle to live as well as she is able because, despite the deaths, she is still bound to Yahiko and Nagato.

This is love. Must fave.
