Sue, sue, suesuesue. Sorry, but this type of story just REEKS of 'Sue. I'd suggest putting Haruhi through the Mary-Sue Litmus Test. If by some miracle she scores as non-Sue, be very, VERY careful to avoid Sue-ness, because it's all too easy to slip over the edge.
