Chalcedony Rivers 2009-11-16 . chapter 1“By the way, my name’s Fiyero. I’m from Wicked, the musical.” He stuck out a hand to shake.
“Mark,” the scarf-man said, sticking out his hand and missing by a long shot. “RENT.”
Two immensly brilliant lines. And a fantastic story! |
HCO the too-lazy 2009-11-08 . chapter 1 Truffle, this was excellent! The inter-musical bar...oh it deserves its own series. And the Mayero is...frighteningly possible. As frightening as grapey fries.
And I always have been writing Baxiana as a Yiddishe mama. |
TheGirlDefyingGravity 2009-07-25 . chapter 1An inter-musical bar is probably one of the most brilliant fanfiction ideas ever.
Even though I don't really like slash, I still really liked this fic. I never thought about all of the things Mark and Fiyero had in common...
nice work :) |
JesseMac Girl the Flinda Freak 2009-07-12 . chapter 1So cute. And I love, I mean LOVE the idea of an inter musical bar. I swear, that idea just made me crack up. Great fic! |
 WontYouLightMyCandle 2009-07-12 . chapter 1Hahahahahaha
This was funny. Interesting to think that Mark and Fiyero are in a simerler situations |
Pernicia 2009-07-10 . chapter 1Inter-musical bar... definitely meet interesting people there.
This is probably the first Mark/Fiyero pairing I've ever seen. Probably the only. But I like it. *hint, hint, you should continue*
The bonding conversation was interesting- I like that they talked about everyday things like ordinary people.
A little disappointed at Fiyero pushing Mark away- this is a Mayero after all. But it leaves room for more. Even though it's a oneshot, I think I'm putting it on alert anyway. |
TheSquintiestSquint 2009-07-05 . chapter 1I kind of love this, but it makes me seethe with jealousy that I didn't get at least the first chapter of Since My Baby Left Me (which is subject to a renaming before being uploaded) before I left for vacation in June. I guess great minds really do think alike and once the idea was out in the ether it was going to get written by someone. At least you just had a inter-musical bar and not Elvis's Heartbreak Hotel. You did a great job with this and I'll probably still post mine with a few changes (less Mark, more Erik and other people).
--The inter-musical bar was crowded as always, just as Fiyero knew it would be. Where else did adults of different places, times, and even universes gather together and share drinks? Not many places were that open, after all.--
I love the idea of this...obviously. I think I even like it better than my heartbreak Hotel idea because it's more all inclusive and makes Mark and Fiyero's meeting more coincidental.
--Fiyero stamped the snow off his boots and glided over to the bar, passing a table of puppets, what looked like a bunch of anthropomorphic silverware, Grania, and The Phantom of the Opera.--
Fine. I'll just have to have less Mark, less Erik, and more...I don't know...back to the drawing board. ;)
--“Mm-hmm.” Soon enough, the fries came. Fiyero smothered them with a purplish sauce that tasted like grapes and was surprisingly good on the fries.--
Does it make me an oddball that I now want to try grape jelly on fires?
--As one order turned into two and then into three, the two men became acquainted. They had a lot in common, besides the fact that their girlfriends had dumped them for other women. They both looked stunningin blue, for instance, and both their mothers tended to be very… mothering. Mark said that his mom was a “true Jewish mama,” and Fiyero, not exactly sure what that meant agreed that “true Jewish mamas” and “true Vinkun mamas” must be cut from the same cloth. Mark agreed with a vigorous nod and another purple-goo covered fry.--
Their bonding seemed so sweet and natural and I liked that you gave them more to talk about than their failed love lives.
--“C’mon,” he hissed, grabbing both the man’s shoulders and shaking him like a tree on a windy day. The man didn’t budge. Fiyero sighed, his eyebrow raised. “What now?” He wondered aloud. He couldn’t just leave the man there—who knew what strange character would wind up in the bar as the night turned into morning? Fiyero felt a strange urge to protect the blonde, especially while he slept. He was so innocent looking when his face wasn’t creased with worry-lines. So Fiyero stood up, wrapped his arm under Mark’s shoulders, and half-carried, half-dragged him toward his home.--
Aww, I also like how Fiyero naturally wants to take care of Mark. I think Mark inspires that in a lot of us.
--Mark leaned forward, placing his hands on Fiyero’s shoulders. He brought their lips together and, for a very brief moment, Fiyero kissed him back.--
This isn't where my story is going to go, but it felt right for this story (especially when I look back at the title which I breezed past without noticing/processing before ;P)
-- When the Tight White Pants wearer realized what he was doing, he broke their kiss and pushed the man away.--
The first time I read this sentence I missed the word "wearer" and I thought the pants were taking on a life of their own to save Fiyero's reputation.
Anyway, to recap, love the story, seething with jealousy and odd desire to eat grape fries, and newly inspired to write Since My Baby Left Me as long as I can make it different.
Fantastic job, Crazy.

alinaandalion 2009-07-01 . chapter 1This story = ultimate win. I really liked the inter-musical bar. And, just, your sense of humor is wonderful. Loved it. |
MissBonhamCartersPoppet 2009-06-25 . chapter 1Lol, I'd never realised how similar they were. Mark is SO much cooler though, come on. Strange characters coming out at night? Why do I get mental images of Sweeney Todd sliding into a stool next to Sally Brown?
Brilliant :) |
Kholen Phantomine 2009-06-22 . chapter 1:O Ahahahaha, I loved it! Mark was adorable! Exclaimation marks! Hehe. Scandalacious indeed. A decent enough base, that's certain. |
 I-Stalk-Espinosa-xo 2009-06-21 . chapter 1ahahahahahahahahahahaa!
OMG, you totally wrote it! That's AWESOME. Thank you!! And it's so good. And funny :) I like how there's an inter-musical bar, and I like how Sally and Shroeder were there XD
So...I have to say, I laughed through this whole thing, and still can't wipe the stupid grin off my face. I love Mayero! Nice name, btw. Much better than...Fark? Yeah. :D
So, I have just one question...does this mean I have to write that fic about Gelphie and intermission, or whatever? Haha, because I recall that we had a bit of a quid pro quo deal about that? Hehe.
SO! *hugs* thanks for writing this! And the dedication. And I'll stop taking up review space now, sorry! |
