TinTin11 6/28/11 . chapter 1Oh my goodness this was adorable! I love me some brotherfluff! Hehe! Cute story! :) |
amyblair 12/9/09 . chapter 1Ha! I can't believe you wrote this in a car, without any sleep and posted at a roadside cafe! I LOVE that! Great fic, loved the brotherly conversation. Totally enjoyed Bobby in this as well. You did very, very well, Holly. I thought it was spot on. |
asdfjkl 10/24/09 . chapter 1 xD |
bhoney 6/24/09 . chapter 1Aw, this was great! I loved it! I was really excited to see a new story from you in my inbox, and this didn't disappoint. Wonderful bit of brotherly bonding, and really funny, too. I could so see Dean responding this way to the hunt you described: "Dean grinned; it had been awesome." LOL This cracked me up: ""I’m damn impressive, Sammy.” He slugged Sam on the shoulder with his knuckles, ignoring his protesting muscles. “You could learn a thing or two from your big brother.” “Right. Dude, I haven’t 100% believed anything you’ve said since you taught me how to fight drain monsters. Real useful, man.”" I LOVED that little glimpse of their childhood. Drain monsters, ROTFL! I would love to see a wee!Chester fic where we hear more about that. SO cute, and I can just imagine Dean playing with Sammy like that. *snort* This made me laugh, too: ""My hair attracts hot women, yours attracts their mothers. It’s just the luck of the draw, Sammy.” It was mostly true; younger women loved Dean. Really loved him. Sam grunted. “Hot women, right.” He mumbled something that included words sounding suspiciously like “hooker” and “strange rash.”" Such a brotherly exchange, LOL. And if fangirls are anything to go by, you're totally right about the Dean/Sam hair thing, LOL. I LOVED this: "Dean rolled his eyes. “Sorry if I don’t catalog your every injury.” He was lying; he knew exactly where Sam had been hit – every sound of pain his brother made on the hunt had him checking for life-threatening injuries. But that particular bruise wasn’t bad enough that it couldn’t be used as a convenient target." SUCH a brotherly thing to do. That was just brilliant, how you showed the concern, but also the pain-in-the-butt big brother side to Dean. And this made me giggle, it definitely seems to be true: "He grinned – messing with Sam was one of his greatest joys in life." Ah, the call with Bobby was great, too. Loved how he figured out just what was going on. "A sigh came across the line. “Just don’t let him beat you too bad. Four inches on him and you still can’t win a fight.” “He cheats,” Sam protested, defensive. “So cheat back. It ain’t rocket science, kid.”" LOL You totally managed to capture Bobby's voice here, and it was a wonderful addition to the story. Also, the hunt he mentioned sounds kind of cool-any chance we might get to see one of the boys play "Melville"? This was the best: "“Dean is the super ninja warrior of the world.” “And?” “…and I’m a dickwad.”" ROTFL Love the explanation about Pastor Jim and their need for revision. *snickers* Ah, Sammy. He did fairly well in the revenge department, in the end: "“I call it.” Dean looked at Sam in confusion. “You call what?” “First shower.” Before Dean could protest, Sam broke into a run for the car. Over his shoulder, he shouted, “And I’m driving!” “Like hell you are,” Dean yelled back, charging after his brother. Sam cackled and ran faster, using his longer legs to pull farther ahead of Dean – running had always been Sam’s thing. With an evil smirk, Sam delivered another blow. “Not putting blankets down!” “What? Stay away from my baby, bitch!” “Make me!”" LOVE that exchange. I could so see it happening. You managed to write a really funny piece here (and having recently attempted my first humor fic, I know that's harder than it looks!). You kept the boys completely in character, gave us some wonderful brotherly bonding and banter...this was just wonderful. I'm favoriting it! |
Dianne 6/23/09 . chapter 1I hope by the word END at the end of the chapter you mean end of the chapter and not the whole story because the dead nephew thing would be fantastic to read about! I loved this story, the brotherly moments and the mud. But yeah, you could continue this story no problem. I'd sure read it if you do. So, I'll put this on alert in case you decide to write about the case Bobby was talking about. Just excellent. |
Carolej126 6/23/09 . chapter 1I thought this was really cute! After this season, it was fun to see the boys a bit carefree, and just goofing around. I loved the conversation Sam had with Bobby while pinned to the muddy ground - and how Bobby knew exactly what was going on. Nicely done! Carole |
shesamonster 6/22/09 . chapter 1Nothing makes better fanfiction than sibling rivalry, especially of the muddy variety. ;D Great job. |
PlatinumRoseLady 6/22/09 . chapter 1This was GREAT! So in-character and so funny. So going on my favorites! |
Bronx1 6/22/09 . chapter 1that was great, you captured their voices perfectly |
Suzy 6/22/09 . chapter 1 Oh, this turned out adorable, sweetie! |
slaybelle69 6/22/09 . chapter 1I think this turned out great! I had a smile on my face the entire time I was reading it. Great fun and a light touch. Nice to see the boys playing in the mud. It reminded me of the time my brother made me eat grass as a kid before he let me up from our wrestling game (god I hated him for that!). Wonderful characterizations. |
carolinesayer 6/22/09 . chapter 1yey that was sweet deffo in my faves now :D thankyou xx |
Sofi Stree 6/22/09 . chapter 1So cute! Adorable quote in the summary, too, by the way. |
NongPradu 6/22/09 . chapter 1Okay, this was just too adorable for words! I loved every inch of it! Light-hearted and fun, full of brotherly snark and insult-slinging (not to mention mud-slinging). I only wish it were longer. :) |
