man... Zel/Lina and Lina/Zel fanfiction always makes me feel warm and fuzzy... and there is SOME proof for that pairing. such as at the end of volume 3 of the manga, where Gourry actually tells Lina he thinks Zel likes her/has a crush on her (the scanlations I've seen say crush, but I think the offical US release says "like" instead). and if GOURRY picks it up, it MUST be obvious =0p

I'm a L/G fan and read this because I wasn't sure how you were going to fit L/Z into it, but you did a good job on it. Kudos. *still thinks Lina & Gourry are better together, tho* :p

I loved it...I can see where you're coming from, writing this based on NEXT. There were Lina X Zel immplications in thost last couple of episodes. I should know, as many times as I've watched it ^_^...Keep up the good work!

You obviously haven't read the manga. The manga, which, as you said, came first, has MORE hints of Lina/Gourry than the anime! In fact, the manga had the same scene with the Giga Slave and the LoN, except in that one Gourry exchanged his Sword of Light to get Lina back. (Which he did in the anime, actually, except somehow Xellos got it to give it back.) The bashing is very childish.

First, I liked the fic, it was pretty well done ^^

BUT...what spoiled it was the bashing of canon fans. *sighs* I myself am a canon fan, being told that I have "no imagination" doesn't sit too well with me. It's a rather blanket statement, don't you think? It's not a lack of imagination, it's just that we don't speculate and grasp at straws JUST to try and prove a certain couple pairing to be true. We don't have to, because our pairing is the actual TRUE pairing.
It's not lack of imagination. It's embracing two characters who obviously have and were meant to have affection for each other.

So, great fic ^^ I enjoyed reading it, and I like your style, but please try NOT to criticize whole groups of people like you did. It's just..not needed.

I loved this! I just got the second season of Slayers and I still need to watch it, but I have seen some of the episodes from this season before, this being one of them, and I thought that it was completely true to character even if you did make it non-canon. I prefer Lina/Zel to all of the Slayers pairings (shameless plug: check out some of my stories for proof). I really enjoyed this and I hope that you write more Slayers fics in the future. Ja ne!
