Beautiful. Tender. Harrowing. Suspenseful. Great character development. Delightful to have the Nox come to her rescue.

I love the story and as always so well written. Sometimes it's hard to come across Sam and Jack stories that are not total mushy fluff. I like the way you write them as fully rounded adults including all the anst of their respective military positions.

However, there were a couple of things that bugged me but only because I'm an oceanographer. Plankton are microscopically small so they wouldn't be much of a meal, there are thousands of the little blighters in a teaspoon of seawater. You've probably eaten a few if you've ever swam in the sea hence the 'eat more plankton' dive t-shirts. Perhaps you were thinking of shrimps?
Brackish water is the slightly salty water that you get high up in estuaries where the river meets the sea.

Otherwise, fantastic stuff :-)
