Bloody lovely! This is, I'm glad to say, the first Eyeshield fanfic I've ever read, and I was so lucky to stumble upon one as interesting as this!

Now, for critisisms; first of all, I love the plot; being a yaoi fan myself, I could never picture a real way to get Hiruma with...well, anyone -_-; But this is an absulute perfect excuse, both for the reader and Hiruma (Him being anything other then schemeing on a crush would just not have been Hiruma). Plus, you're not doing it fast; all the chapters are well paced, not so slow as to be grueling, but not so fast that there's no time to savor. This is a very rare thing in fanfiction, so be proud of that.

As for in-characterness. Don't worry so much, other then one incident, nearly everything has been completely in character (in consideration to the circumstances). The lone incident? The very end of the last chapter. While I can understand that you need some forshadowing that the dating thing could actually work, those last thoughts on getting to know Hiruma better seemed to come out of nowhere, and seemed out of character, not on Sena himself, but of the side of Sena you were potraying during this chapter.

My only thing (and this is something nearly every fanfic-author does, some don't worry about it too much) is the little to no comments on the other characters. Oh, you had a bit sure, but only when absolutely necessary, such as Manta being someone to support Sena, Mamori's inevitable protectiveness, Suzana to show Hiruma's feelings might be more genuine, and the Huh brothers brief comic relief. I'm glad you commented on those four, but it was only because it couldn't be helped; meanwhile, there's a flush of other characters full of potential to make the story far more intimate with the manga and dynamic.

Again, this is pretty much a universal fanfic problem (we can't help it, we're fan authors; it's in our nature to only write about our favorite characters.), so don't take it too close to heart.

Neh, How could I have missed this update? Well, I can tell you it was a wonderful surprise indeed. This was an awesome chapter and you still leave me wanting more. From what I can see, your characterization seems spot on. If ever Eyeshield had actually be open to included BL pairings, then this is something I could easily see happening within the storyline of the manga.
I am thrilled you touched based with Sena's perceptiveness, more so his willingness to want to learn more about Hiruma. I do wonder if Sena will be bold enough to call Hiruma by his first name later down the line once they actually grow more accustomed to one another. However, I am enjoying the slow development that is playing out...it makes things more believable and all that more satisfying when things start to click.
You have a strong start, and I am eager to see the direction you'll take this in, whether there be more comedic moments (the thought of Sena trying to be charming/sexy is making me chuckle...it's an adorable effort in my mind) or if you plan to have drama or angst. Whatever you choose, I know I will eagerly be awaiting updates. Keep going ^_^
