To answer AFO's statement; on Anne's wedding day, It says Small Anne Cordelia is two, so little Fred is five. Joyce is born a year later, so Fred is 6yrs older than her. I think what you meant was Fred was a little old for Joyce, maybe?

but wasn't joyce rather older than fred? and i have a feeling that jem and walter and shirley and stuff weren't all in the same place in france.
