This is beautiful and poignant.
I love this glimpse into a character we know nothing about from the Chronicles, very unique.
You've done a marvelous job showing the stag's tirmoil, the choice between duty and desire is very clearly shown.
And your word choice for this story is so lyrical, very poetic with lots of powerful imagery.

Wow. That is an incredibly unique (so far as I know, anyway. Not in this fandom much. lol.) view on the beginning of the end.

I love the Stag being the usher of end of The Reign. Though it is a little strange to have something so beautiful be the bringer of bad, it fits that it ushers out the beauty without beauty.

...Or something like that. Moral of the review, that was gorgeous. ^_^

I've never thought of the White Stag like this until now. The poor thing must have been just as you descried, desperately not wanting to do as he was called, but doing so because he knew it was the Will of the Emperor-Over-the-Sea. Gosh...

Excellently done. There was something so majestic and sad about this, and it was no mean feat to have a story focusing on the White Stag, who is hardly the easiest character to write, I'm sure. I loved your imagery, too.

Wow. Truly well done. Absolutely lovely. I adored the line, "In the dark water, the stars were arrayed about his head, gems caught fast in the ancient antlers of a world-weary traveler." Your writing style is breathtaking.

This sent shivers down my spine. What a creative way to write this from the Stags POV. All I can say is WOW. I'm VERY impressed by your writings, a very gifted talent and I hope to see more of it in the future. When I say future I mean book stores as well as . :)

I really like this. It's interesting to think that the Stag knew what he was doing when he went into Narnia, that it was planned. But then again, it seems that all of the comings and goings of humans in and out of Narnia have had some order and reason to them. I like the description of what it felt like to have such knowledge, because it must have been a terrible thing to know.

I really wish the White Stag could have just turned the volume up on his iPod and ignored the summons. Reading this, coupled with the final, bitter installments of Glimpses of Gold (which I'll have you know, I am refusing to read because I don't want it to end), well, our sorrow is equal to the Stag's. Here's a plan: I won't read the last 4 installments of Glimpses until you begin posting something else? Something involving dragons and swooning maidens and snide llamas.

This really started the wheels turning in my head...how did the legend of the White Stag begin? Does he really grant wishes? And if he does, are the results of those wishes ever what's expected?

Aw, that's really cool! I love how all the animals know full well that Aslan is the leader. That was one of my fave scenes in PC, when Trufflehunter suggests they go against aslan and all the animals and centaurs are all like, "NO WAY!"

Wow. This is breathtaking. Literally breathtaking. I was holding my breath the entire time I read this because it was so well done. Your imagery was wonderful, and I love the picture of the Stag mirrored in the pool as he listened to the stars.

How interesting! It's a companionable piece to the end chapters of "Glimpses of Gold." I like how you portrayed the Stag's coming to Narnia and his reluctance of knowing what his arrival heralded for the Kings and Queens.
