I found this through the Reviews Lounge's "What the heck?" thread.

This was beautifully written. In fact, my first impression after finishing it had nothing to do with the story, and instead was just a sense of intense jealousy that you can get this much emotion across.

I really like, no, LOVE that this is about a minor character, and expands and fleshes her out. I'm trying to do that with Neville, but he's nowhere near as minor as Katie. At the same time, you made Snape so vivid, too. I was glad, when I got to that part, that there wasn't some big revelation or long letter or something. The one line, not even signed, was so perfect.

I'm just very impressed, and will be looking at your other stories.

um. wow . this really is amazing. it's short and simple, and focuses on a often ignored minor character, but this is really indepth exploration of two characters, although snape is of course more subtle.

What a subtle and thoughtful piece, in some ways more about Snape than Katie Bell. Beautifully written with detailed and lovely descriptions with solid imagery. I enjoyed reading this. The depiction of Katie Bell was solid and interesting creating a whole person, and Snape was intriguing stealing the page as he always does in even a few lines.

Oh, I love this! Very quiet, and Snape is perfectly in character through Katie's eyes. Wonderful!

Heart wrenching and emotional. I love how you were able to pack in so much of what needs to be said, or what could be said between the two of them in so few words.

Very original idea of a more easily forgotten character.

I do have a soft spot for stories that take a look in the lives of those less mentioned.

This was a very well written story. It's interesting to know about how Katie copes with her attack and gets through it because of Professor Snape. She isn't a character you would normally think about. Yes, we know she came back to the battle of Hogwarts, but nothing more. Seeing the aftermath, her loss of sight, is a very original idea. I just loved the 3 words from Snape. Thanks for a good read!

This was just rec'd by red-day-dawning (insane journal) and I came over to check it out. (I trust her recs!)

A wonderful story. The voice you gave to KB is very convincing, and the description of the pain on the 1st curse very well-wrought. I loved the idea that she would pretend to have forgotten--a nice foreshadowing of the reaction to trauma many would experience from the war.

Fantastic characterization of Snape. You brilliantly reveal his essential character to the reader while keeping him IC and true to canon. Delicious! I admire the economy of your portrayal.

Really loved this short work. You created a wonderful character study. I'd love to read what else you may have written.

This was a beautiful look at Katie; I really liked the bit when she writes the letter to Snape, and also how you described her difficulties at learning to live without her sight. As always, really well-written.
