Poor Spock! This pained me, but it made me feel better knowing that Uhura was there to help him! I think when I read that tears [had] sprung to his eyes making Uhura hard to see. That his human eyes did that, made me feel very empathetic (perhaps not on the same level as Uhura, but I did feel myself frowning...a lot!)

Wow that was absolutely heartbreaking and wonderfully written.

That was beautiful and very Spock-Uhura. I think it would probably go best after the Spock and Sarek scene. I think his father gave him what he needed: the vocalized affirmation that his father loved his mother and is someone else who would mourn her as much as Spock would, and that Spock was born of love, that loving someone is logical. After that conversation, to then have Nyota in front of him, in his arms, would finally fully allow him to express his grief. Great scene - thanks so much for sharing! :)

It's hauntingly beautiful. I really love the tone and feel of the story, and how you managed to capture the dynamics of Spock's and Uhura relationship. It's really god! :D
