This entire fic is just making me so sad with its epic feel. That bit, the 'final awakening', and the mentions of the destiny he'd been too blind to see - just hit me hard. It makes so much sense, when you put it in those words.
And I didn't say in the other chapter, and I'm not sure how long ago this was posted but I want to say I'm really sorry about your uncle. Sudden death is the worst thing to deal with, I feel.

The sad, tortured Rimmer, the distance between them, nano Rimmer's death: it's all so damn tragic! And I'm lapping it all up! :)

NO!! Even if it IS the annoying one, there should be NO Rimmer death!! Is it wrong that I'm still completely loving it though? I think this is just brilliant, and that line:
"Drop him. You don't know where he's been." - Genius.
This is the kind of adventure I love, the action broken up with wit like that to ease the tension. It's just so good to read. :)

There's something oddly sexy about a man who can casually whistle Cocacabana though he's about to go fight some simulants. I'm falling head over heels for your Ace :)

Oh my god, they've got him! NO! I was actually almost crying for poor Rimmer when he was calling for help! :(

Words cannot express the love that is growing in me for this story. It's already got me dreading anything bad that's bound to happen, excited that Rimmer's finally going to go back, and sad for his story. :)

I'll just go on about the 'Only the One' prequel bit here: Oh freaking...SMEG. WOW.
The grit of it, the believable background info and detail and characters...it's amazing! You astound me. :)

Now, for this: Oh, my heart just broke for Rimmer. No wonder they hate him...but he couldn't give away the location of Starbug! This story is one of the best I've read on here. That last line just gave me chills!!

Realisticly mabey the best Red Dwarf fic I have read. Pity that you still had to tie it into the abismal "Back to earth special". Still like the familys drunken uncle , we cant pretend it is'nt there. Oh But you did forget the most awsome catchphrase ever. That would have been better last words for ace rimmer before he turned back into goalpost head. "smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast". What a guy.
