great chapter, the french translation is a bit incorrect but the idea is there. Keep writing this is wonderful!

Your story is really amazing. And your French is near perfect. Little corrections nevertheless :

“Je te crois,”

“Mais que fais-tu ici? Je veux dire, c'est ma pause, mais-“

“En fait, Derek et moi-“

“Ah ouais. C'est vrai. ‘La fenêtre a mal à la tête’,” Emily replied with a laugh.

“Je suis désolée, je voulais dire...”

But other than that your French is so great!

So, the "predictable pattern of bad things" is definitely a recurring theme in this. I love that you defined it and showed that Derek is aware of it, even though he's seemingly unable to do anything to lessen his own part in it.

The chapter is completely heartrending, especially since Emily wandered into it. Clinging to the bear.

And then Derek tries to fix it, but it's too late (well, it's never too late, of course, but he seems to think it is...)

Yep, this is definitely my favorite chapter of this. Gives us some much needed fluff and also gives us hope. And there is always hope for Derek and James, is there not?

I just love this story, so much that after reading the first paragraph of the first chapter, i went backand read the first story. It took many hours and i finally caught up. It's funny, as i read this, LWD was on (and still is).

You are a very taleneted writer. Is this inspired off anything? Because it's just amazing. It seems like something i may have seen in a movie or something. Just amazing.

I really do appreciate Keith asking all the questions I wanna ask. Though he's much more polite and understanding than I would have been.

Nowhere has Keith said "Dude! What were you thinking?!?" And I would have been shaking Derek by now.

And I'm glad that he suggested Derek "balance the story." Both for our sake and for Derek's own.

And, you know how much I love the very idea of the "end of the movie too early moment." Can't wait to meet Imani.

I did not enjoy that at all, but I do not think anyone shod enjoy a chapter like that. You did it well, it's just that I'm one who think that anyone who acts like Sally did shod never get to see there kids ever agen.

soo i just read the story that accompanies this one(sorry for not reveiwing) and i have to admit, i definately shed some tears..
i can't wait to see derek's point of veiw on what happened all those years ago and i especially can't wait to see how everything ends up!!

I read the first one, from James/Michael's pov first and had to read the sequal. I'm such a bad reviewer that i'm only leaving this one review, but please know how much i'm livibg this and I cant wait for the next chaper. I'm absolutely agonizing over this whole family, and all the things that have gone unsaid between them all or so long. Please updat soon!
