You know, I would have never thought that I'd be interested in a story that has the Dai Li as main characters, and all OC's to boot.

But now I know that I was wrong; this story is remarkably original and well written, with a distinct canon feel.

I loved how you wrote the Dai Li agents, each of them so convincing, so real. You truly made them came alive.

And I liked the assumption that the Dai Li and Long Feng knew about Zuko and Iroh all along (by the way, of course one of the older ones would recognize the Dragon of the West; it makes perfect sense), and how you make it clear that they truly believe that it's in everyone's interest if they control and manipulate the city's residents, that that's the only way to keep them all safe (LOL, mindbenders...:D)

Why, apparently their main reason for keeping an inconvenient guest like the Avatar around is so that he'll be safe, too. They want to protect him.

You really make the point that they are not evil, and not necessarily corrupted - they are human, and they are misguided (even Long Feng actually cares for Kuei)

Xiang: He could really do with some anger management, but he makes a good point about underestimating the Avatar.

Jae: Have I mentioned I love the whole thing where he and Sang Min are playing mahjong with some Army dudes? It's just so... normal. :D

Hyo: <3. Just... just <3. Him and Mi-Cha and how's all Vimesian in his "it is READING time now kthx". I love how you handle him when you borrow him.

Xin Wan: ...he's just creepy. There... isn't much more than I can say.

Qin: I like the way his mind works in that, from considering the Avatar an irritation to the belief that the Dai Li need to protect him from himself.

Liu: I just love him, really. The ways he makes himself understood even when he's not writing, the scarves, and the interaction with him and Iroh. Oh yes, Iroh would know.

Long Feng: More <3, really, because I love how you deal with him. He totally knew Iroh and Zuko were in town, even if they didn't know who they were. Also the calm version of "AVATAR STOP YOUR SHENANIGANS IN MY CITY". :D
