Very good story.

Great, well written story similar in feel to a J.R.R. Tolkien story; the dwarf Vulcan reminded me of Gullum/Sméagol. I found this story intriguing and exciting; the kiss scene lovely and very touching, wonderfully conveying the intense love and passion Vincent and Catherine share, and the scene where Vincent agrees to give up his soul to save Catherine is extremely poignant and moving. I could just imagine Vincent and Catherine's emotions, the pain and despair in their hearts as Vincent says his regretful farewell and emphatically expresses his love for her; then Catherine's intense grief and shock at the thought of having forever lost Vincent, convinced she would die without him and wanting to follow him wherever his soul may be; it had me crying like a baby. Very good story-telling talent; the words effectively transported me to picturesque scenes that engaged my interest and emotions, making me feel as if I was seeing or experiencing the events of the story instead of just reading them. I only wish the story had been longer since I so much enjoyed reading it, didn't want it to end (would have love at least another kiss scene). Thank you for writing such a good and compelling story of my favorite romantic couple and helping to keep their dream and their love alive. I really hope that you will write many more BatB/V&C stories.

You're very creative, my friend! Thanks for sharing. And what a kiss... happy sigh

A minor suggestion: Perhaps you could make your Luke a Kipper or Geoffrey or Zac... or did you intend him to be Olivia's Luke? I only ask because the story doesn't seem to take place all those years later. :-D
