bandj4ever 2009-08-01 . chapter 2I had time to read one story and I am so glad I picked this one. True and classy first person writing. All attitude and thnakfully it is kept consistent. Fully rounded in perfect opposition, this is the way to do it, folks: tough/vulnerable, laidback/all business, serious/flirty - all in two chapters. My goodness! Way to go! This is stuffed to bursting point with genuine characterisation, yet parred back lean and mean, what's not said as important as what is. May seem a little different to the Gordon character on TV but this story highlights the beauty of the written word. As this is first person, there is the freedom to write as Gordon may see himself within his own mind - his attitude to himself. This is called depth. Totally grand stuff. |
MitzyTN 2009-07-06 . chapter 2Gordon's the same person as he was yesterday, is he? all in a day's work, probably. An interesting take on him. And Virgil. I wonder if we'll get to hear more about Scott and Stevie? |
Little Miss Bump 2009-07-06 . chapter 2A brilliant and gripping two-shot. You had me pouring over every word. The characterisation (something I find to be the most essential part of any story) was perfect. I loved Gordon's flirtatious personality. And Virgil's joke regarding the Starbucks brought a smile to my face. Brilliant sibling interaction here.
Although the underlying severity of the situation was clear, the story still offered those key features that most TB writers crave: brotherly relationships, a teeny hint of danger and a little something to tug at your heartstrings. The ending line was fantastic, even if it wasn't a "happily ever after" tone to the story. It fit in perfectly with Gordon's mood.
Thanks for sharing. Keep up the good work! |
quiller 2009-07-05 . chapter 2M, you give us a very different sort of TB story, and a very different Gordon. A Gordon with a tough pragmatism; this Gordon would have been shooting to hit the guy who was bailing out of Fireflash's hatch in OCD (I always think that point is a bit ambiguous). A Gordon with a libido the size of the Rock of Gibralter - and not fussy where he uses it! But right at the end you still show he has that impish streak, and a touch of sentamentality that makes him likeable.
PS You can always send him round to my Tammy to get that shoulder sorted! |
PurpleBlaze 2009-07-05 . chapter 2I was a little unsure of Gordon in the first chapter: it threw me that my favorite character acted and spoke so crassly. I enjoyed the second part immensely; that's more how I think of our red head. I love the brother love/concern in there. Virgil's so cute! What a sacrifice to get up so early for the emotional well being of his brother.
As always, your stories leave us with brain fodder to chew on for awhile. Good job! |
Red Hardy 2009-07-04 . chapter 1So Gordon swings both ways, huh?? ROTFL! Well he is the most laid back and easy going of the brothers so if one of them would do that, it would be Gordy!
I LOVE that Stevie has the hots for Scott. (And I absolutely love their nickname for him - "BB". Loved it ever since I first saw it in Sashes.) Maybe he'll get a little action with her before this is all over.
I really like the originality of the plotline and the way they've justified what they're doing - by working 'security' here they ARE saving lives.
I look forward to seeing what you've got in store for Gordon. ;-) |
