Oh, this was great. Especially loved the 'the unspoken chord humming between them'.

This is superbly written. Every mention of "her" and "she" in italics is like a hammer stroke, nailing home Gene's overwhelming sense of guilt and grief. All interspersed with his thoughts of Sam - well done for bringing up that Crane moment. Wonderful.

Great story, I cried at the season 2 finale! Boo hoo...really lovely story, very swet. Are you planning on more chapters, you have put complete but I would be interested to see it extended. One thing, I did wonder why you put all the pronouns referring to Alex in italics? I presume you wanted to emphasise it but it seemed a little odd in places but apart from that it was really lovely story, well done! X =D
