Another wonderful story from you! I love the idea of Gene sneaking into hospital under the name of Mr Drake, and the dialogue with Ray is fantastic. I felt a lump in my throat with "Mr. Drake was 'ere to see 'er, just like the nurse said.", and "Everyone knows she-" Ray cut himself off before he said the thing that had been deemed unspeakable, but known by everyone for a year now. The memories of Sam are very telling. Then Alex's letter broke me up. This is so good. Please write more A2A fics!

Just one thing - he know that "that Boris bloke" is dead. He shot him just before he shot Alex.
