It's a physical shield created by magic, not a magical shield. And, as we know, physical objects can block the Killing Curse, just like Dumbledore did with the statues and such when he fought Voldemort in the Ministry of Magic.
Yes, the wording here was needlessly ambiguous and would have benefited greatly from some added clarity, but I'm sure you see the difference now.
I knew the minute I saw that sentence, '...conjured a protective shield...', that at least one person would leave a review saying you can't shield from the Killing Curse. You can't with magic, which he didn't. You can with a solid object, which he apparently did. |
