St. Araqiel 5/14/11 . chapter 1
"Degin peered at him from over his glasses. 'Garma, you're a vegetarian. You tried to make me outlaw boxing because it glamourized violence. You adopted a manatee in my name for me last Christmas so I would have my very own endangered marine mammal. What subversive plan do you have for the Academy? Do you have a gang of anarcha-lesbians who need you to infiltrate and give them a chance to wave crystals and do Buddhist chants to bring down the patriarchy?'

Garma leaned back in his chair. 'You spent all day thinking that one up, didn't you, Dad?'

'It came to me as I was changing.'"

Oh, how I laughed.

Hey! I love your UC Gundam stories! You're a really talented author. _ I noticed whenever you write, it seems to the next person that this could be valid information. :)) But that's just how good the stories are in the first place! Ok, enough of my rambling. lol I like your commentary at the end of this story and I agree with you. SIEG ZEON!

Android Raptor suggested your work to me, and I was not disappointed. I agree with the idea that this story is in the vein of Catcher. I like the characters for the most part, but they feel a little half done. But this is a very old story, so I'll let any critisisms I have slide.

I will be sure to read more of your work. In turn, I wonder if you'd like to take a look at my work. I currently only have one story here, since I mostly write original stories. But if you like side stories, then you might like mine. It starts just before the war truly begins. It's not the most positive of stories, but I will get some good mobile suit action in the next couple of chapters.

Good work.

Well, as long as I'm going to stay up at 3 in the morning reading fanfics, I may as well read some good ones...

Let's see, this fanfic...what to say about it?It's...dare I say...funny? Garma "tearing ass down Parliament Hill," the whole "EW! You're my SISTER!" thing, Garma and Kycilia's plan to convince Degwin to let Garma into the Academy...it's so funny and natural, it's almost like those people at school are talking to me, but with intelligence and maturity...

Yet this fanfic is also pretty serious, dealing with how Garma really hates the way he's treated and such. Considering he's the pampered favorite son of Degwin, it makes sense that everyone would treat him like a baby...

The only complaints I have were that the Winona wouldn't be carrying a beam rifle, it would most likely be carrying a machinegun, and the entire Aina/Garma thing was too weird. I guess I just didn't see it coming...then again, it is 3 in the morning.

I'm also inclined to agree with Uncle Jo. The characters so far have personalities that aren't particularly close to what's seen in Mobile Suit Gundam. You did say you're planning a trilogy to put everyone in their proper place, but it just seems weird at the moment. And where did Dozul go? There were a few mentions of Gihren, but I never saw Dozul...

Overall: 9/10.

A excellant, witty, and poignant story. The punk band references certaintly flesh out and make accesible the character of Garma, who was more or less one-dimensional in the MSG series. I would encourage the writer to write regular fiction. This site, dominated by 17-year old girls with broken grammar and soppy love plots, is not a deserving outlet of the writer's talents.

Good story! I'm not sure about Garma and Ania being together though. I no for a fact that Garma also has a Zaku II on the PS2 game Zeonic Front.
kishiria 2/11/02 . chapter 1
Author responding to Uncle's critique (which I requested and Uncle provided, so Much Love to Uncle):

This story was actually meant to fill in some plot blanks. We know nothing about Garma and Kishiria's life before they pop onto the scene in episodes 5 and 11 respectively. We know that Garma went to the Academy with Char, and that's about all we have of his past. With Kishiria we have nothing.

From some alternate sources (ie the novels, although this is also found on the master timeline on the website High Frontier) we learn that Garma's mother died during or after childbirth and that her name was Narsia. Narsia did not bear any of Degin's other children. I'm not sure what the source is for Cicero (sometimes spelled Saslo) Zabi, but he seems to have become canonical. The novels also discuss Degin's keeping Garma off-camera until his entry into the Academy.

The only thing I might have bungled is the dates on each mobile suit being developed. It's true that the suit here can't be the earliest Zaku developed, which didn't have any arms. I can probably wriggle my way out of that by saying that the first Zaku was the one Kishiria saw which made her decide to fund the project. But hey, I'm honest, so I'll take my bumps if I have to.

This is the first of a trilogy, which I hope to get around to writing eventually. By the invasion of Earth, everybody's personalities will be in place, and hopefully I'll have explained why Garma went on to be such a self-destructive neurotic, obsessed with impressing his sister.
Uncle Jo 2/10/02 . chapter 1
I must admit to some guilt for going into this sketch with rather droll expectations. The summary provided does get the basic plotline across, but scarcely gives the reader an undescribable feeling that this piece will be a fair bit too amateurish for his tastes. Perhaps I would ascribe it to the "until he is introduced to a Zaku" line. There's something laughably uneasy about that line. Once you get into the actual storyline itself however you'll find something a bit unexpected. A teen angst story best compared to Salinger's famous "Catcher in the Rye" is what I would say you'd find. Now (and this is no discredit to the author) while I'm not about to say the work is truly comparable to that literary classic, it is indeed a rare gem in the Gundam Universe. This is due to the sheer originality of the author. Never could I have imagined the actual writers of the Gundam series to have ever had such thoughts concerning the characters they created, and isn't that what fan fiction is all about? Now, to be fair, all authors are doing a little something unique in every story...but there are few points in Eaglet that are even comparable to the original series. Every character seems to have taken on a completely new persona, though they keep the same positions and apparently exist within the same (if not slightly altered) universe. I've thus far seen only one other story where the author was completely willing to take the characters from Gundam and bend them completely to their will and ideas (rather than look up information on the internet, or imagine what the writers would think this author has come up with it all himself). Still, while I enjoyed it for these reasons, such may be the reasons that many people might not actually like it. This story strayed far from the realm of Gundam UC established facts of what did and did not happen, and there are some people out there (myself excluded) that won't like this story for that reason. One problem I had with the story was that there was a lot more I felt you could do with the Garma characters weaknesses. You explained them well, and we looked into his head to see how he deals with his many thoughts, but it slowly became tired. Isn't there any more to this characters woes. This is entirely an opinion, but couldn't Garma be a tad bit more dynamic. Do his experiences effect him in any way, and if so, how can you make the reader understand his confusion has he is suddenly faced with a new truth that contradicts an old one? Another problem, at least in my opinion, was the persisting question: If the author continues with the storyline thus far, won't he just be creating another dimension of Gundam? I just found it hard, given the wild character changes, to see these characters ending up in the same positions they did in the series? How the author decides to deal with this is, of course, ultimately up to him. Still, I wouldn't mind seeing him go further with the alternate UC universe. How far can you diverge from reality while keeping the same characters. The same characters would exist in this dimension with some characteristics remaining the same, but perhaps in different positions and with ultimately different fates. Now, to me, that sounds interesting. I hope the author continues with this type of work, even if he decides to no longer focus specifically on Garma.

he was a zaku pilot, his colors were orange and green
Mutant Headcrab 1/12/02 . chapter 1
A pretty good fanfiction.

Theres only one little flaw I want to pount out. At that point in time, MS-size beam weapons havent been thought of, let alone created. The Zaku should have a 110mm machine gun
anon 1/5/02 . chapter 1
This is good. Write more. I haven't heard much about or seen very far into the life of Garma Zabi, this is what I guess would be the closest thing you can get to a biography. Keep writing, I'd like to see more.
Sabersonic 12/31/01 . chapter 1
Interesting view on Garma Zabi. Thought I never really saw the entire Mobile Suit Gundam series, it seems rather interesting for a 70's anime show. Also good wievering (Did I spell that right?) on both Mobile Suit Gundam and 08th MS Team.
Wing Zero Alpha 12/30/01 . chapter 1
Hey, this is rather original. A fic on Garma Zabi, and not just a Char/Garma fic.

BTW, you forgot to mention Garma used his Zaku in the PS2 game Gundam: Journey to Jaburo. Just noting that.
